  1. Project MU HC800 or HC+ as they were previously known as.
  2. not enough cooling on a 37 degree day at Wakefield with over 320kW, time for more cooling The radiator was more than enough when the car made only 200kW with an oil cooler at the track (no matter what temperature) but now the car makes decent power, it sure gets pretty hot. Street use, drag use, you won't even reach the limits of this radiator.
  3. From what I know, 370Z Brembo won't fit a S13/14/15/R32/33/34 however a 350Z Brembo will when the mount holes are drilled out to 14mm.
  4. haha.. no dramas, my definition of Edgy: Able to unsettle the car with harsh steering movement, similar characteristics to a go kart So at the same time it appeared to be very sensitive and break get the car into a slide, I felt that there was much more control over the car and also stopping in a straight line just after the kink (turn 1). Allowing me to gracefully dart across turn 2 then into the uphill area. I'll post up Go Pro footage soon In terms of handling Turn-in: Superb, even with the ARBs set to soft rear and 2nd softest front the car just turned as though I was doodling around the street Mid Corner: Not sure how to explain, but it just gripped. No need to constantly feed steering any input Exit: Depends, but if you gave it a load in 2nd it would go sideways LOL.. but in 3rd car just powered out without any bouncing feeling, etc. (this is what I believe is due to the superb dampering) I found with the SK Bilstein kit when I powered out of corners it would squat so low hit the bump stops and the car would bounce around like a mad man and into corners the car would bounce up and down due to the sloppy spring rates, and lack of real dampering. Yes they were great on the street and during my first few times at Wakefield, but as soon as I threw on some proper semi-slicks the suspension really showed all it's flaws. Even though SK promtoes super dooper ARBs, that was pretty trivial as they kept snapping my ARB link brackets. Even MCA said to throw on stock ARBS, but I don't own any so I just set mine to a reasonable setting. Overall, extremely happy with the MCA coilovers, and at the same time I haven't even found the traction/mid corner limits of my setup yet where as with the Bilstein setup it was pretty easy to find the limits. So yeah, I need new brakes now. BREMBO calipers are on their way
  5. I'm on E85, so doesn't "really" make a difference in terms of knock.. but because it's not as cold means you make less power and also I have an IAT table that corrects the injection table so it doesn't run rich as crap. I'm happy to spend my money where it's needed and happy to get rid of my China Racing products (sound racist, but I'm half chongers myself hahahaa)
  6. Hey Guys, Got my trusty China Racing radiator lol... well it's by Worley which I assume has come from the same factory as ASI. Works much better than the stock radiator and keeps temperatures pretty solid with the stock shroud, fan, etc. with moderated power on the track (provided you have an oil cooler). Whoever says the stock radiator is sufficient has no idea or has never put their car on the track. Would be a fantastic upgrade for any street machine or track car with basic power upgrades. I have had this for about 2 years and there are no leaks, no warping of any sort. Has seen countless track days and held up everytime. Top of the tank has been sprayed with matte black engine enamel for datstealth! Price: $100 Location: Canley Vale, NSW What's Included: Radiator & Radiator drain plug (Radiator cap and thermo switch are NOT included) How it currently looks in my engine bay. 7. if anyone wants my scotty_nm35 intake it's for sale with all silicone joiners/reducers to fit either stock airbox -> hypergear SS2/G3 turbos or pod.. For Sale thread & Photos: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/461780-fs-syd-r32-r33-scotty-nm35-alloy-intake-pipe-with-4-3-silicon-reducer-good-for-low-mounthypergear-setup-pod/
  8. Hello All, I have for sale my old trusty alloy intake pipe made by scotty_nm35, this one is a little different to the other ones he makes as it does not have a BOV return and the oil breather port is in a different position (great for running catch cans). This will fit your stock airbox when running a low mounted turbo. Included in sale: - Pipe itself (duh!) - 4" to 3" silicone reducer - 3" silicone joiner with 2x house clamps - 3" alloy extension to delete AFM - 3A 3" Pod filter Price: $100 Location: Canley Vale, NSW Photos below of how it sat with the pod and even with the stock airbox
  9. Andy and the team are amazing like that, he answers e-mails/smses at any weird hours of the day. He even sent out firmware updates that weren't even released to fix a few bugs I had and like you also, I bought the ECU used. Goes to show good service goes a long way, so because of that I've installed another 2x Adaptronic into other cars.
  10. I have a mate with a R33 GTS-t with water spray hooked to his IAT sensor.. smart, but you need to always refill it on the track and 1x 2L washer jet bottle doesn't last a full session on the track. So better to get a more efficient core to start with. Hopefully when funds permit next year, I will be going straight up to a 100mm Plazmaman core.
  11. Update: Lap time: 1m12.038 (37 degree day, tyres were like butter) Timing method: Q-Starz Modifications Engine: Unopened RB25DET with a Hypergear SS2 running 1.5bar on E85 Power: ~300kW Suspension: MCA X-Race 10kg(f) and 7kg® + 24mm F&R Whiteline anti-roll Bars Tyres: 255/40/17 Nitto NT01 all round Brakes: Stock, with Project MU HC800 pads all round Body weight: 1500 kg? 1st outing with the new setup, still don't have the full confidence to throw the car into turns yet and also was so damn hot.. shirt was pretty much drenched in sweat after each session! Got about 4 to 5 laps at time before car started to get into the too hot region.
  12. Alright.. what a day it was on a Sunday, racing a car in 36 degree heat isn't such a good idea... It's just too damn hot - but the Skyboat kept it together.. she kept sailing through Wakefield Park, however about 5~6 laps at a time before water temps hit about 115 and oil around 130. Even after all the overheating and what not, still managed to drive home with the AC on So tell us the time right? Managed a 1m12.03s according to QStarz, I'm sure on a cooler day I would be able to get it down to the low 11s even 10s but that's no excuse at all as my mate laid down a 1m9.50s in his S15 Silvia. Car was pretty consistent too, most other sessions was doing 1m12.0~5 but probably need to work on the driving style as now the car behaves completely different. Being an open at (Speed off the Streets) I was often held back by slightly newer drivers to get a few good clean laps, all in all was a great day the squat came there with their cars and drove home without any grenaded motors or gearboxes. Damper wise, started in the middle 6 ouf of 12 all round then started to click up the goods.. Found a sweet spot around 8/12 up front and 9/12 down rear. This did have 1x compromise, made the car a little edgy but allowed me to be able to control the car much better when it was unsettled. Probably wait till when it cools down a little and I'll be back out to give it another shot!
  13. and what were your intake temps? a core may allow you to make the power you make on a dyno because it's placed right in front of a massive blower but on the track or real world it's a different story.
  14. all the back purging broke the Internet lol
  15. Hybrid, HDi cores aren't that good, IATs gwt pretty high on a 13s squirt on the dyno. I would invest in something a little better, I'm replacing my China Racing FMIC soon.
  16. Looks the same, probably no difference
  17. new Mick_O stainless intake, tigged up back purged porn dose pipe lol
  18. better have a mad dose pipe lol
  19. am I sensing a new car Mike? lol
  20. if it was yours.. the car was pretty sad when the previous owner destroyed it ahahaha.... Next year it should be getting a makeover
  21. was the original colour KR4 Silver? because the boot, engine bay and interior is that colour.. just door jams, outside of the car is in that bluey/purpley colour
  22. just don't tap it on the return line (I've seen this before on a car I went to check, tried to contain my laughter).
  23. I have no idea Duncan, I purchased this car off Carsales and I'm sure the owner wasn't a car enthusiast lol... it had: massive 19" wank wheels rubbish tyres southern cross sticker on the rear windscreen stupid gear knob, ugly as f gearboots hectic turbosmart blow off valve hectic turbosmart bleed valve more yellow and red vacuum hoses you could poke a stick at pedder shocks and springs LOL and of course, the owner said it was purchased from Edward Lees... so the car has at least another 200 000km on top of it lol within a week, the parts listed above met either the bin or eBay
