I'm just pointing out that you can buy straight from Turbosmart.

KiwiRS4T replied to marni's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ask them what they want for it - you may be surprised. Then if you don't like it you can make an offer or go to the auction. -

You never give up do you? Those graphs are not "tests" or dyno charts - they are computer models invented by some one. The harsh facts are that the RB20DET makes 265Nm The RB25DET makes 294Nm and the RB25 Neo DET which everyone is telling you to get makes 343Nm which is significantly more than the RB20

Have you pulled your MC apart to see if it is badly scored etc? If not a rebuild kit should be fine. If you do want a new one Just Jap seem to have them for 395 http://justjap.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Brake+Master+Cylinder

Surely that will not have an airbag?

R33 Gtst misfire and stalling..

No 1 tip - get rid of the turbo timer. Common cause of missing - if plugs look new gap them down to 0.8mm - if not get new ones and gap them down to 0.8mm. Do the coils look stock? If they look old give them a very good clean and spray or wrap with insulation. You might be able to see on the coil body if it has been shorting. Otherwise replace with new OEM or Splitfire coils. Those are the basics - there are lots more things you could look at. Google your question. You will get lots of suggestions. -
Try bleeding the clutch anyway. Not familiar with your car but if possible adjust the clutch so that the pedal comes at least a little way off the floor before it begins to bite.

I know. I recommended Syntrax or Motul Gear but never mind. Do you in fact have any clutch pedal free play? Anyway you may be right about the box. An RB20 box won't stand too much caning.
-
To get you from 300KW to 400KW will cost a lot more than the price of a Nismo twin plate. Do it once, do it right. BTW no need to start a new thread on clutch ideas - there are hundreds already - just google.
-
You should have used synthetic oil. I don't think shockproof is going to fix your problem. Have you got free pedal on the clutch?
-
Measure the crank. if you have a stock engine and the new block has been bored you will need new pistons. You say now that you are not after big power but if you change your mind later you don't want to be pulling the engine out again so get better rod bolts and balance the whole assembly. You'll want a new oil pump water pump and cambelt tensioner and now is a good time to do the harmonic balancer.

Just bought my first Skyline v35 Coupe, but not happy?

What's the km on the car? Did you do any kind of inspection - e.g. compression test ? Time to do one now! -

OK but my misconception is that the glass comes from the same factory. Has always worked for me. -
R34 25GT brake upgrades
KiwiRS4T replied to DieselTime's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The brakes on your car are probably perfectly adequate for what it is. If you want to work on your car learn to service it properly and if you want more excitement build an RB30 bottom end and when you get your full licence sell your DE and get a GTT. Later you can put its head on your RB30 bottom end. You don't want a 2L engine in your car. -
Yes still got ABS. I believe D2 brakes sold in Aus as K sport or suchlike. Duncan has a set on one or more of his cars. Or GTR Brembos are 324mm. You may need to check if stock GTT wheels will fit over. I have used 17in Rays and 18in Skyline wheels.
-
Seems a small investment. What do you think you have in your box now that is different from the cheaper oil? I think you'll find Redline Shockproof is not cheap either.
-
Have you tried Nissan for the rebuild kit? I put a BM57 in my S1 Stagea and retained the original brake booster. I don't know if bias is different but I put a set of D2 330mm 8 pot brakes on the front and GTR 2 pot on rear and did not have any apparent problems with bias.
-
3in will be pushing it (not saying it won't work) but 3.5in would be better. There was a Stagea round here making 550AWKW with a 3.5 exhaust so that will definitely do it.
-
Syntrax is the synthetic version so I would prefer that - or Motul Gear 300 75W 90 (and check that your clutch is fully disengaging).

HKS SS 264 in RB26 - how far can go ?
KiwiRS4T replied to joe89's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Your RB is not a 2JZ so numbers are irrelevant. Yes set them on a dyno. This is one reason not to cheap out on the tune. It will take a fair bit of dyno time to try different settings of the cams and adjust timing etc to suit. -
Going by the above ad any GTR half shaft will do. Do you not have a local shop that can replace the CV joint?
