Sorry I can't remember exactly. That should be the SAT model. Externally gated?

Internal.

I thought you were going to send me the SAT version but don't actually know the difference.

Please email me a photo of the rear turbine and comp of the turbo. I don't remember building internally gated SAT versions for any one. if it is the SAT model, it might be running 22psi minimum boost, but I can make changes to it if not yet installed.

Interesting re. The intercooler studies.

I'm considering a r34 blitz return flow on an r34gtt to be used in conjunction with a high flow to make around 250rwkw. Are these worth it? or will the generate alot more lag/loss of response? Would prefer not to cut a hole..

Consider PWR 600x300x81mm FMIC instead. The Blitz return flow did not work for me.

If you really have to use the Blitz return flow and make power. get our ATR45-SRFC special application turbo. I can pump get that to make close to 300rwkws on that cooler kit.

Out of curiosity which Blitz return flow are you using as there were two sizes of the long lower pipe . Mine I believe is the earlier version with the larger diameter lower one . It may not make much difference but occasionally things like this can .

Well after 3 years I've finally got interested again at fixing the issues with my ss2 setup.

Since last time it's got a new exhaust, cams both dialled which resulted in them getting advanced and water meth kit finished off. Unfortunately similar results to last time :( anymore than 18 psi it started missing and seemed like a failed coil pack as changing plugs didn't help. I got into some testing and noticed my speed signal is erratic with about a 10:1 noise. At 800rpm it fluctuates 80, 300rpm changes while cruising at 3k on highway and map tracer is constantly bouncing left right.

I'll get a new Cas and double check for intake leaks etc then try again for a better result. It's currently running about 11 degrees at peak torque and increases to 15 post-24655-14385209287334_thumb.jpg

Just got this today.

Haven't got digital copy of this yet, only photo

Ive finally got my 25 back in the 31 with the atr43ss2, going to be getting a flex tune done shortly so will update what it does.

Tao what turbo do you have for a SOHC rb30? Mates after something quite large. Does the ATR45 come in a trim suitable for a 3litre?

If you using a 0p6/vl turbo/ 300zx etc etc .63 rear, id be getting a atr45 SAT for a Rb30..as the .63s with 3582/atr45 rear turbine wheels choke the f**k out of them..to much backpressure

Rb30 sohc motors like .82 housings with those atr45/3582 turbines..

For externally gated if he still wants that dump pipe to be made it will still be $1250, How ever if he's happy to make his own dump pipe it will cost $950

Hey hypergear. Just wondering if you have any r33 high flow turbos on the shelf for exchange. Or do you only build them once receiving them from the customer.

Thanks mate

The one in photo above is .82 internally gated.

Very good ! You will also need a small/medium camshaft (220-230 @.50 duration, upper 400 thou lift, 115-117 lsa ) depending on car use and trans and a set of valve springs

on a on a sohc rb30 to make power with that turbo..

cheers

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
