I cant get VCT working unless I buy a VCT intake cam and a new VCT solenoid and gear. I have previously had too much hassle with getting VCT to work in my SR so I threw it away and put non VCT cams in my car.

I am very happy with the delivery as it is anyway. Going to keep it as is and just want to go finish my tune.

Man there are a lot of people out there with your highflows who use their cars for PROPER motor sport duties. That is crazy :)

Cheap reliable turbo that can be rebuilt cheaply in AUS. Also cause he's always working on improving his products can't go wrong

Newly designed exhaust wheel finally out of the furnaces today. This particular one was from the 407rwkws SS3 prototype with a Dia of 66mm. Will be making the turbine shaft and friction weld them in the next few days. This wheel is also made to improve the exhaust side flow ability with current bolton ATR43 series turbochargers, without adding additional lag.

Looks good Stao :)

Took a few quick photos of my turbo today, first time I've had time to even look at it since it got back here.

Might get some better photos tomorrow but in the mean time heres some photos off my phone:

Happy with the way it looks, Can't wait t osee it on the car. I have no excuses now that the turbo is back to not get started on this engine

Thanks again Stao for making this happen :)

SS2

Yeah was an SS2CB, one of Stao's original ones produced not long after the prototype (If memory serves me correctly?)

It's been too long since I actually got the turbo. Need to put motor in car and stop making excuses

Those are the current SS turbochargers, I'm particularly interested in the result of the SS1PU as the latest compressor has made a difference in stabilizing upper rev boost level as well as the turbo's response.

My test rig will be down graded using standard exhaust manifold and internal gate, based on the completion of the SS4 Alpha development. From there I will obtain further data based on the performance of our latest SS turbochargers internally gated, In which should archive a much better out come then what I've originally archived few years ago.

Lastly, internally gated SS Alpha turbochargers are under construction, means a new range of big power, responsive and easy fitment turbo options will soon be available for Rb25det engines.

Stao do you think there would be much benefit for me to change to your new profile? As noted I will be heading back to the dyno soon so I should make the most of it.

After some trailing and testing with using the G4 chra the housing type and profile bell shapes are pretty much set to optimum for a Rb25det engine. So far this is the most responsive 3582 equivalent turbocharger I've trailed. Obviously it will be a controlled run finding out what my cam behaviors are and gathering data for the SS4 alpha series to run against.

Trent and Cat just had their fun in China and now back to work. My dyno run is booked in for tomorrow, and hopefully things will run smoothly.

Here's controlled run from today. The maximum power reached was 445rwkws with 25psi @ 4500RPMs.

Boost level comparison result from previous run using the same turbocharger.

No, its not responsive for a daily, how ever not bad considering the peek power it managed. This is our base run using standard cast compressor wheel, my billet wheel versions will be act against the result above, and the desired out come would be for better power and response. 460rwkws with 25psi by 4300RPM would be a nice goal to reach

That graph looks mental straight up after 4000rpm

will be awesome to drive if it got traction

Goes from 100rwkw at 4000rpm to 325rwkw in a few hundred rpm

If these turbos could handle big boost 30psi+ you could be onto a winner for those after big power

decent response simalar to the precision turbo range

Should be well over 500rwkw at over 30psi if it can handle it but you would need the supporting mods to test it more fuel

Ho-lee-f*k! That's mental. I'd love to drive it on the street :) Licence would be gone in a second but the tyre smoke just beforehand would be epic.

That's pump fuel and low mount?

That power level would be very fast at the drags

You should try winding the boost up and test it out at the strip

Is that turbo still internal gate and single scroll?

Just re read it still cast comp wheel and no vnt yet

With a billet comp should be even better but I'm not sure about the vnt might choke it up top restricting power

But it's definately heading in the right direction

This is running VNT, hence the difference in response. Thats on the high mount, external gate and e85. for some reason the boost curve appears laggier on paper then on road. I can see my boost gauge sitting at 15psi at 4000RPM 4th gear on the high way. Since its just a controlled test so never mind as long as the billet series works better.

If I can get rid of 300rpms of lag it would be sweet as for a daily.

Definitely very fast, I need to a 4WD system to put all of those on the road.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
