Does it work?

No, needs a rebuild.

Anyone who buys a 20 year old rb26 and thinks it does not need a rebuild has rocks in their head.

No point paying $2-4K for a engine that will blow in the near furture.

a wagon to a ute? thats a pretty big difference. I wouldnt do it.

It's kind of like, a guy dating a girl, they break up, n he becomes gay. She turned him. you dont wanna be like that do you?

Why would you go from someone with a big ass booty, to .. umm.. nothing?

Lol dude, most hilarious analogy EVER!

I used to have a VR commodore ute when they were new, and it was the most collosal pain in the arse ever. Sold it, bought an R31 wagon thant I owned for 9 years, 3 writeoffs, 4 sets of rims and a full respray. And I bought a motorbike.

Best decision I ever made; Met my Missus because of the bike, and kept her 'cos I had my povvo wagon (doesn't like showoffs), it possibly even was the inception of my little son, Evan. And of course, now own awesome black Stagea (which my missus thinks is cool)

Moral of the story: Wagons get the chicks  , utes get you going through a carwash at 2:00 in the morning after 5 pissed dickheads get in the tray at closing time at your local pub and refuse to get out unless you "take us home dude".

Don't be that guy :) (or get a hard tonneau cover, like I did, the very next day)

lol i've seen that happen with our audio VAN. we opened the van so we could unload speakers from a club we did sound at. we got back to the van and found two people already butt naked in the back of it.

I pissed myself laughing and said you know what? we'll unload later haha

Dale, I went to take a few snaps of those bell-shaped chillies yesterday, but my old man has already ground them into a past. I opened the jar to get a whiff - it smells damned potent!!!

bell shaped eh? That narrows it down a fair bit actually. They are either going to be habanero's or scotch bonnets. There are a bazillion different varieties of each (and probably twice that many hybrid varieties) but both are usually in the upper end of the heat range.

I would probably put my money on a habanero because the scotch bonnets are notoriously hard to grow for anyone other than a specialist, and most people cant handle the heat of them. - the bhut jolokia (also known as the Ghost Chilli, hottest chilli in the world) is a scotch bonnet...

Hey peeps!

Man, I has been busier than a one legged man in an arse kicking competition. Flat out at work, even busier at home prepping for the onslaught of festivities that befall us this time of year, as well as finishing off my new front garden and tending the buggery out of this years new chilli plants.

Sure dale. I bet youve just been trolling in the wasteland. lol. Good to see you back here. So how is your garden of eden coming along? Those fancy chillis look like absolute priders, I have some trinidad scorpion seeds that I ordered from the US last year, along with

. As you know, very fkn hot man.

I was going to grow them over winter with the aid of a heated propagation tray. Now coming into summer, I think I might just stick them in a pot and give it a go. After travelling to Malaysia and Thailand I reckon I have tasted some of the hottest chillis know to man. I was tired of sayn, not too spicy please. Crazy sweats.

Pft - I have eaten the worlds hottest chilli, and it was nuthin :ermm:

OK, it made me cry like a little girl, but the endorphin rush was unfknblvble.

Dude, that'll buff...

Oh wait, no it won't. Carry on, then.

Today, after 2 months of waiting (the last week and a half waiting for DOT was unbearable) I finally got to pick my new baby up.

Wow!! I'm in love. The leather is mint, sound system sounds fantastic (surprised as I'm fairly certain its all stock) and drives beautifully (my fears coil-overs would be spine shattering were unfounded it seems).

(she's the white S2)

My only complaint is the exhaust. It's mid-muffler back and drones something awful. Looks like I'm on the market for a decent replacement.

Installed digital TV tuner to Eclipse head unit

Fixed missing wire on OBD2 connector so InfoMeter would work

Swapped wires on auto shift lever so forward is change down and pull back is change up - now I don't have to look at the + & - to remind me, it all feels natural.

Vacuum and shampoo for the carpets (Qld cruise tomorrow)

Not bad for half a days work. Thanks to Jacob (my son) for helping his old man.

mine has refused to start the past week.

not sure whats wrong with it .. either starter or shift lock sensor.

Sounds like you cooked the starter, doesn't take long to kill it.

Could be your fuel pump, or possibly the immobiliser causing the original issue?

almost killed mine.

was running hard on the dyno being tuned when oil pressure light came on. investigation underneath shows hge leak from the sump.

it appears the proengines 3l adapter plate expands at a different rate to the block, resulting in the sealer breaking and a major leak.

motor out to fix the sump

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
