If people think this is an attitude unique to ferrari they are a little misguided.

Often you hear of magazines being unable to replicated the performance figures given by the factory.

Pretty much every car maker does it.

Like when you hear of subaru getting both their WRC drivers down to the drag strip for the day with 10+ WRX's for them to simply abuse till they break in an attempt to set the performance target they want.

No great suprises in Chris' rant, but it's nice to have it off his chest I bet.

Seems someone within Ferrari is keen to keep the bullshit of "The Old Man", otherwise known as a 100% arsehole, alive and well.

I've never once longed to own a Ferrari, well ok, I do ache for an F40, but their marketing machine is just too contrived for me, always has been really, even when the F40 was new, it's asking price and claims of "composite contruction techniques" were mildly laughable :)

Besides, I've never met a Fezz driver that wasn't a 100% pure unadulterated Cock. And I'm not a cock..... or am I?

the F40 is alright but its predecessor, the 288 GTO, is the one to lust after.

Very sexy car indeed.

I Do have a real soft spot for a 250 Lusso or a long nose 275...but good luck ever finding one lol

nup, F40 for me too. even better go the hardcore F40 GTR or LM or whatever gay letters they put on the hardcorey one.

for many years I wanted an F40 bad enough to make my balls ache. then I turned 13 and it got better. but I do still have the odd urge to sell my house and live in an F40. as I constantly remind my girlfriend you can sleep in a car but you can't fking drive a house.....

288, no doubt, gorgeous thing, but a little before "my time".

A few years ago I remember seeing a 288, F40, and Enzo on display together, and was left thinking , "where did they go wrong?!"

They went wrong when they realised they can make more money out of selling crap merchandise than from making cars. I put it about the same period as when Schumacher started driving for them but some argue it was slightly previous to that.

Anyway the 288 was one of the last of the good cars they made. It looks well hard & isnt tarnished by the crap engineering the F40 has in it. They were still trying in those days - not just selling junk to rich fkrs who dont know any better.

Lets all go to Ferrari world and puke in their roller coaster.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
