Nice work guys, looks like she's going to be a sleeper engine bay. If you decide to get any of the exhaust ceramic coated down the track; let me know, I know a guy who's a perfectionist.

Lol @ "Daleo magic" ; I thought you & the missus were looking the other way while I was shagging your manifold. Mmmm, cast irony...:3some:

looking forward to the finished article.

passed by last night just before 7 as i was in the area, only to find the gate locked haha. Thought u guys must've been exhausted and hit the sack already.

looking good so far! obviously not as staright forward as my supercharger setup, but look like this kit will be pefrect for PM35 aswell!

Well, did a little bit more on the car today...The ECU harness is now out of Medium/well done territory, heat wrapped and out of the way of the exhaust, as are whatever else could be moved from the back of the motor. Re-assembled the coolant piping, and trial fitted the intake which looks good. Bad news is that the Fabricator is in Fiji until next week, so that slows process down. In the mean time I'd like to sort out the rest of the intake, intercooler, and whatever bits and pieces are left over. Cannot fit exhaust - will need fabrication. Also try and dump my ECU for sending over to Abbey motorsports for Uprev.

Looks the goods. Have you got a power ballpark you're expecting when its done?

Is it going to be tuned on 98 or E85?

Its going to be dyno'd RWD, on 98 (there is no E85 within 40kms of me....) Power- we'll just have to see. 240rwkw would be nice... but who knows. Thats what a 350z that had the kit just got. Dynos can read so differently, its more about how it drives- and I suspect it will be a torque monster!

Well, Intercooler is mounted up, with the intake piping post intercooler OK. Quite neat. I'll get pics when I can.

Was fun buzzing a hole in the front member to fit the cooler.... whistling.gif

Custom parts should be sorted early next week, so hopefully it'll be on the road by mid next week.

Spotted 4 NM35's at Stagea Garage this morning! Good to see Spoolin back on the road!

Nice work mate, you must be very pleased!

What custom parts have to be done?

Just the turbo piping to the intercooler, and some work to the exhaust. Should be pretty straight forward.

That turbo to cooler pipe is a pain, especially getting around the driveshaft. Probably best to fabricate it from stainless for strength mate. Its coming along nicely.

How is the tuning side going?

Agree- Stainless is a good idea, I'll mention it to them.

Tuning, nothing much really. Enquiring if some tuners will use the Uprev software. I don't really want to dump the ECU until the car is back running. It needs good battery voltage to do so, otherwise the process won't run. Having a driveable car is a priority!

Well, today I dumped the ECU with the UPREV software and cable. 3 and a bit hours of waiting! Oh well. its done now. I have emailed it off to Abbey Motorsports in the UK. They are going to tell me if I can use the uprev software, which I am almost certain I can, and give me something able to be tuned and flashed!

Ever wondered how big an ECU was...?

The file I have is just 1mb of binary. For a very complex machine, the file is kinda small I thought....

In other news, I'm still waiting for this fabrication to be done....rant.gif

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
