Just got that fun "go kart" feel that you get from a little buzz box; cockpit interior, in tune with the vehicle controls/feedback. You have to hit the corners though. They are no more special than a sporty little modern-looking car around town. I think they did a good job of capturing the essence of the AE86, being that it wasn't the fastest car at the time (still decent performance), but people loved to thrash/chuck them about. A lot of Hondas like the Integra and Prelude are like that. Would I want more power from factory? Yep. But it stands on it's own where it matters. Be a great beginner track car if you can afford to spend that on a track car.

Add a blower and I think that's the difference between 8/10 and 9.9/10.

Hmm... So for just cruising from/to work with squirting there and there, I'd better off keeping my 34 instead no?

Clever security too :)

Xray machine showed a slight gap near the top of the piston...they got greedy and made the cavities too big.

Depends. In the end it's a newer car, more comfortable and better looking than a Skyline. If performance is what you want and you're driving to and from work, keep the Skyline. Like I said you gotta take it to corners to feel the performance side of it. Without corners it's just a good looking sporty coupe with some nice modern features and interior.

I should be there.

And Dezz e60 M5. Dat V10 noise! Drool!

Awesome! Keen to see your 34, looks dope in the pics. :D

I'll make a post about pre meet tonight for anyone else interested.

Haha bit of wider fenders, plastic dip and some rims and shell be sweet

I considered getting one as a family car in the future. But hear maintenance costs can get quite high if something goes wrong. Especially the gearbox

But I love the sound of a V10 :merli:

need some Neesan help

2 plugs near IACV. one brown, one purple. Mein car has brown plug ok, but nothing to plug into purple plug. and engine-conversion loom doesnt have one nearby that fits. Any idea what they do?

(theyre right next to each other)

Yeah purple is definitely a solenoid, I remember replacing the copper washer on my 25, Not sure what the other bit is but I'd imagine it's probably the part that actually moves to open and close the AAC valve, from memory there's a spring inside that area. Manuals and FAST don't go into any detail about what's what because you're supposed to just replace the whole unit when it breaks instead of fixing them :/

Will be properly looking into these supercharger kits for the 86 on Monday. From what I gather: 4-5k fitted, ADR complianced and engineered, all bolt on components with ecu reflash. 170rwkw without an exhaust on conservative boost; not uncommon to get 210rwkw from an exhaust and a little more boost. In a great handling 1200kg rwd, that's good/dangerous fun!

So a r32...? :P

Looks like I gotta find one to drive and see what it's all about for myself.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
