If labour had bought 72 fighter jets at the same time as telling us we need to tighten our belts I would have the same opinion.

I am a swinging voter.... it's just that the current federal LNP party was crafted from a load of satans jizz.

I'm not saying the budgets perfect I do believe it's the kind of budget we need the age of entitlement needs to be stamped out. It's actually ridiculous that labor party still exist given they have consistently proven they cannot manage the country (economy) they have failed to return a surplus for over 40 years! How they can be so blatantly incompetent and get away with it is staggering

Just remember these measures have only come about because of the wasted spending and mismanagement long term the country will be better off

They say oh we don't have a debt crisis look at the OECD countries we aren't as fkd as them, so what they are basically broke is that truly what we want to benchmark off? How about the rich nations with sovereign wealth funds that have billions tucked away provide free health, education and more to everyone shouldn't we strive to be like them not a broke kicking the debt can down the road country like USA / Europe?

$9 billion a year is the interest alone on labors debt that could fund so many things!

See I think Labour did the right thing at the time

and now think Libs are doing the right thing for now.

if we had libs in at the GFC and the motor industry pull at that point we would have had scared ppl everywhere and be in a similar situation to spain and UK.

however if the spending kept going now it not a worry then we would end up in debt like greece.

I don't like any politicians those that gravitate to power are usually those least suitable for it, but considering how good we have it here some of them must have done a good job.

How many of us really have it that bad though? We're all still here right? Regardless of who is in power, and who we hate, it's still people with half a brain running the top of the country, whilst we the people run the rest of it. Even if you lose your job, you go find another - people will find a way to survive. Recession or not, it's not like you're physically dying from a few extra dollars or a few less in your weekly income. Unless Labor are in power and you get some insulation done zing!

Also, it's a whole party piecing together their policies...the leader is just a media face for elections, a puppet, a pigeon and the fall guy...so hate on them all you like, that's what they are there for you to do. Always struck me as odd that people judged Bush's administration based on his public bumblings etc., when he actually little say in what was done. Or that they thought so much hope and difference would come with a black president, when the rest of the party is same old white guys? A party can disown these guys when the party has made unfavorable decisions or needs a fresh look...they did it with Rudd and Gillard. Idiots who wanted Howard gone because they thought he was too old (prime ministers are footballers??), equal idiots wanted Gillard gone because they hated her. Baby with the bath water...

Old Tony's tactic of silence sure is interesting and laughable...can't deny it works though; the journos quickly give up trying to get him to say something; they seem almost intimidated by it or unsure of where to go. I've never thought of Abbott as a good talker. Fortunately for LNP he has less outbursts than former Labor leaders lol

Intimidated? Surely you're joking.

They think he's a moron, acting like a 5 year old that has no answer to something they've done, so as adults they don't bother to stoop to his level of stupidity

Why wouldn't you keep rolling though, to capture 5 mins of silence? Unorthodox, but I say it achieved the effect of making them go away; he's just not playing their game.

In both those instances it was journos trying to make something of nothing, which is why he gave no material for them to use. Then when they got nothing out of him, they tried to make the nothing seem like something. He seems to be bobbing his head whilst doing it lol

I have an idea this morning that will save this country.

it boosts morale, will increase attention of filming in australia, it gets the defense force involved in a positive way, and shows off the new fighter jets.

I present to you....

TOP GUN 2

How can you be so one eyed al? The libs could implement a tax on "people named Alex Sherwin" and you'd be all up on the internet supporting it and sooking about how bad it was under labour.

The libs have ruined many things in thus country, just as have labour have, and conversely they have both done good things. It's actually that simple.

The budget is in a shit position right now, that we all agree on. But post GFC so is every country.

Why do we have to try to return to a surplus in the next 3 years via a budget that is so painful to the vulnerable? Why can't it be a 10 year plan or even longer? In reality hockey/Abbott are only going through with this in the hope they will have something to tout at the next election.

It's a shit budget. Period

It's really not that bad the vulnerable are not that much worse off at all young people should work or be studying, they should pay to study why should the people fund their study? The dole should not be a free ride, Pensioners are still going to be far more better off than probably anywhere else in the world id love for them to have more if it was possible but frankly the rate it is going there would be nothing for anyone

Abc like really who cares labor should fund that themselves they basically are labor propaganda shows 90% of the time with a sprinkle of bbc content

I don't disagree the budget isn't perfect for everyone but it's what the country needs for long term future I'm not so one eyed to not see it in a balanced light most people are letting emotion get in the way of opinion on fundamentally good policy. Not all ideal but is what it is at this point in time.

Let me guess not one of you have an issue with $180k+ earners paying a debt levy right? Ultimately money has to come from somewhere would you guys like to increase you % tax paid to help out the vulnerable you care so dearly for? Sadly I think we all know the answer

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
