so went to MiColour to discuss painting and fitting of body kit for gloria... learnt some things about the do's and don'ts of fibreglass body panels.

but now its time to weigh up whether its worth the cost... can anyone recommend a place worth chatting to? im prepared to pay for quality work, but in Mick's words "How long is a piece of string?" can go very very long when trying to make possibly warped fibreglass "fit" nicely. (im preparing for the worst, hopefully it should be pretty good)

on a side note, S14 at micolour getting the whole sha bang-a-bang has some serious money put into it. like so serious i couldnt believe its to be used a street car only. on a S14 that had hit a pole on the rear quarter. the fenders were made by Mick and will fit 11" wide tyres once some tubbing was done.

DT Panels is another option.

was hoping to find an alternative to DT Panels.

I swear Odie has been to a place a while ago that was good (other than Micolour)

Nope... Only bodywork that I've had done is getting my passenger door replaced after a woman backed her car out of her driveway into it while it was parked.

Insurance job via JCI and went to the lowest bidder (a place on Princes Highway Springvale). Paint was well matched (though, its a flat white, so not that hard really) though everything else was horrible... Snapped a few of the door card panel clips and didn't replace them when swapping it onto the new door, power window is a bit flakey and only works 90% of the time, power mirror hasn't worked since, window was so out of alignment that letting the door swing shut would make it stop with 10cm to go...

JCI said to call the workshop and book it back in for them to fix it. Workshop said to call JCI and book it back in for them to fix it (ETA a week), I said "Hell no you're not getting it back for another week" and fixed a bunch of it myself. Mirror is still dead in the water...

Saw that s13 when I had some working getting done out there and it was a little insane! Kinda want it :P

A45 AMG is pretty quick though!

In saying that 230kw on e85 on the r34GTR

Probably similar power to weight to the tuned stock turbo'd R34 GTT which makes 200rwkw at around 1,400kgs

But dat r34 gtr doe #race #rb26 #gloves #e85 #race day # race helmet #security guards #fastest car # most exclusive car

Yeah this part I don't really understand. I had low comp cylinder 1 in my 32R, and stock with 14psi on 100octane it made 250rwkw... On E85 that 34 should be making 300rwkw at least. I don't think a hub dyno would have robbed it of 70kw... Something's not right there!

All 34R qualified mechanics must be SAS reg trained former NASA lead engineers and have obtained at least certificate 2 in crowd control / security operations to work on the vehicles

Which is why it's so hard to find a place who can get you more than 230kw at the wheels

Bahahaha 230kw, seriously? I feel sorry for the guy's hired wife and kids

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
