inb4 Chinese own every inner property in Australia

One of the higher ups at work sold his house for around 2 mil...the girl doing the negotiations was 18 years old. Parents bought the place for her (well obviously). There are more wealthy Chinese in China than there are average income Australians and for as long as the wealthy Chinese are allowed to buy their way into permanent residency with a zero turnover business and a few million in assets, these sorts of property purchases will continue, forcing everyone else to the fringe. Sadly only have the sellers to blame who are of course going to take the highest me offer, but selling out the property market to overseas in the process.

Have been saying this will happen for 8 years and now it's topic of the lunchroom at work everytime I'm in there :/

Wonder how bad that will get before anything actually gets done about it, if at all? This is exactly what happened to Singapore...

It's f**ked. You should have to show a profit to get residency based on business. The amount of shitty cafés' that lose money hand over for for years that are owned by Chinese is ridiculous

there was the old trendy suburbs cafe business model...

1) start up trendy, no-frills cafe that makes good coffee and small breakfast menu.

2) establish reputation and regular customers, employ good staff etc.

3) sell to chinese

4) chinese use lackluster staff, shit coffee etc.

5) business slumps

6) buy back off chinese for fraction of price sold to them earlier.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
