Looks like it's ramping up fast to 20 then tapering down to 17

Interesting...what turbo? Ex gate? Return cooler or straight piping?

I'm on 15-16psi

Guessing from your slightly better response my turbo is actually slightly bigger (unless you've done more than bolt ons), however my turbo gets a bit choked up top from my cooling and exhaust setup.

Almost the same setup as yours. Yours seems to hold torque for longer though, only just.

Yeah that's weird...shouldn't that produce more power at the same RPM / speed though?

Though that assumes runs done in the same gear and diffs. I don't know how dyno dynamics calculates engine torque...obviously some sort of correction for it; maybe it's open to

variability.

R34 OP6 Hypergear Highflow, Internal gate, cheap Returnflow cooler, standard cooler piping in bay, scotty's intake pipe (which doesn't quite fit and I need to ask him to modify it since it doesn't line up with the turbo and the airbox at the same time...)

Pretty sure the restriction is the rear housing not being able to flow enough

Ah yeah. Mine is an HG SS1PU, which from memory has a slightly larger rear than the OP6 highflow...but I made him match it up to a bored out standard Nissan comp housing up front for dat dere stealth (that could also be choking me out up top). Using his preferred comp cover Stao made 290+ with an SS1PU on his car...albeit Trent's dyno.

Intake and cooler piping is standard with a return flow, so they do sound very similar setup-wise. Could also be that your turbo is simply a newer / more efficient model or a difference in engine health.

Pretty damn good turbos I must say, I've had mine on for at least 50,000 now and running flawlessly.

Brought it home yesterday, pulls like a freight train... midrange definitely changes a car way more than top end power does. before it was breaking traction (265 ad08r) at the top of 2nd and chirping 3rd, now it's breaking traction for most of 2nd and if I change into 3rd hard it'll keep it going. Need to get used to that...

Had some slight coldstart issues when I started it up tonight, started and idled fine, but touching the throttle during the first 30 seconds made it choke and revs dropped down to 400 before it recovered itself... fine when it's warmed up (approx 2 minutes)

Sooooo, best of luck to my neighbours with it idling for a while at 4:40am on Saturday morning

you should be a easy 4 sec ahead of me....

Thus, why I've got work to do... Need to build confidence and learn how to turn in correctly...

ALSO, WELL DONE EVERYONE!!!!!! Page 3876 was purely about cars, not a single mention of politics, housing markets, vase selection criteria or which limited edition sneaker is just retro enough to be cool without being pretentious...

Pretty normal for E85 to be unresponsive and choke up with a cold engine. Spark plug heat range prolly a factor too.

Once started I can use the throttle immediately, but I always roll it on slow...if I stab too quickly idle drops. It also need a bit more revs when cold and letting the clutch out for take off or it will die in the ass. After a couple mins of driving or idling it runs fine and dandy with dat super response, but I've learnt how to drive it so that I can start it and start driving basically straight away.

As for actually starting, that depends how pure the E85 is in the tank. While there's still some petrol in there, starts will be easy. With pure E85 and on cold mornings mine can take 2-3 cranks to turn over. Helps to add a minuscule amount of throttle as I turn the key. Warmer weather and it's first crank good to go.

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
