Ran an odometer check on my car for the lols.

90,000km @ 2004

Imported the car in 2006 with 115,000km

Will check it against service stickers to see if it lines up.

Although looks like latest owner was a car dealer...

Someone translate the original owner address. Should send him pics haha

Kanji is a pain in the arse to find the right characters then run through google translate so not gonna translate address.

Cool that it has numberplate details though. Was registered in Nagoya, Aichi prefecture.

Speaking of contacting previous owners. Found the first owner of my car on Linkedin and decided to send him a message not really expecting a response.

"Michael, you are correct - my company car sold to friends when I moved to Japan at the end of '95. They kept it until about 3 years ago - Always a good car."

Contemplating posting a photo of my payslip next week just to rustle some jimmies

If you do, expect us to hold back even less regarding unions.... and remember how butthurt you already get... ;)

I'm confident that if people on a salary took overtime pay and had union organised strikes many companies and the economy would collapse

Salary people take bonuses?

It's also written in salary contracts that there is reasonable expected overtime as part of the salary "package"

If I'm expected to work a 60+ hour week in order to do my job properly then I best be getting paid.

Inb4 chefs are slave labour

I know a couple looking for a place if you need room mates

haha gold.

f*kn this ^ (I've also never received a 'bonus') have mates in mediocre roles that constantly receive bonuses must depend on the company.

People at my current workplace/same role as me work like 8-6 or 8-7 and eat lunch at their desks - screw that I'm taking my hour lunch and doing my 8-5 - It's the only time I get to see any sunlight.

This varies depending on the organization and meeting budget - most don't give bonuses in a bad year. The thing about an office job you're trying to make a career out of, is they can't make you work overtime, but if you don't it just looks bad to upper management and you can enjoy your glass ceiling career path because ultimately they'll promote the guy who is willing to work the overtime for nothing.

Sucks but the same thing will happen with tradies when replaced with immigrant workers willing to do the same job for less.

Not if the militant unions have anything to do with it :)

You can't really complain about no bonuses Leigh if you are going to bugger off at 5pm each day lol

Dunno what's a bigger crime, the corruption or that some cleaners were supposed to be getting paid $50 an hour

    • I also used Knox driveshafts when I the slip yoke T56 to the 3bolted TR6060 type. I believe I was one of his first jobs as it literally changed hands when I was there, started by the old owner and finished by the new. Everyone seemed pretty great about it. So wasn't shy/seemed pretty knowledgeable when dealing with weird custom people like me.
    • Just a reminder orange park was cool back in the day   and drifting the main circuit was even cooler   f**k I miss that car
    • We used Knox Drive shafts years ago when we were doing gravel rally, good guy but I heard it had changed hands? He's got a lot of stuff and is miles cheaper than GJ and so on. He used to have a lathe setup with a MIG torch on the tool holder so he could get the uni welds just right, quite a clever guy. I just got a driveshaft done for my sequential installation and that was through Balancing Services Australia in Preston, they did the Gibson cars in the old days. New genuine CV's, billet yoke, new centre bearing and chome moly shaft was $2k.
    • Thanks for sharing that mate, I've got a couple of spares on the shelf but all the unis are tight....will give old mate a shout. BTW are you sure it wasn't just a $400 paint job? Any detail of what they replaced (cut/reweld?)
    • Yeah I saw that about the US Q50 recently, apparently it was shown to Inifiniti dealers (probably to help with their depression about the cars they can sell). Seemed like a really obvious step to me, the platforms are very similar in many ways. Even if there aren't many people who actually put the money up it should really help with image/reputation. What hasn't been clear anywhere if that is a V38 model of if they are just going to add the trans as an option in a new model year. What they did with the Z from 370z to "Z" is just weird so I'd be surprised if they released this as a V38. Great news for me to have an option; it is far from confirmed that I can get any decent track sessions through the auto so having a manual I can swap to is great.
