For starters, you don't have a 9 second GT-R, nor do you have a dyno sheet....lol

SAU should run a drag day again.

Lets all go

Put me down for any race 4 real in October as a definite.

I think it should be an SAU roll racing day, the reality is it's much more gentle on the car....than the typical SAU circuit day.

With our vehicles becoming collectible anyone belting them on a track is out of their mind tbh.

Well I'm stoked to see the car out and about being used, well done.

Glad it didn't blow a box and as you said roll racing is more gentle, being mechanically sympathetic will help, good fluid etc etc it all helps. I've always liked the saying, the candle the burns twice as bright lasts half as long so while it's great it didn't fail, it has done barely any k's under load and down this way my experience has been they fail under track conditions just because it's harder and the loads are sustained for longer.

It will fail at some point, everything mechanical does, and it won't be a surprise or a big deal because it's simply out of spec and we are all constantly pushing shit out of spec then replacing those weak links, get as much enjoyment out of it as you can until that point I reckon.

How are you finding the power delivery and general driving experience vs the GT-R? I've always found that everything feels a bit more raw in a Silvia, GT-R puts down and utilises power so differently - I think that's where the comments come from GTR people saying you need at least 400 or 500kw or what ever power to make a GT-R fun, because they are deceptively good at harnessing greater power levels.

Sounds fair, although it seems that everyone cheats at roll racing, getting on well before the line in some cases.

I suppose it is better than hitting it down the local off ramp or main road.

Meanwhile.... you don't have to "beat on" a car at the drags to have fun, limiter launches are not required to get a good representative time and trap.

Whilst the Nissans are becoming collectable, and worth some coin, they are not made of glass.

Get out there, I want to smoke some Nisans in my Bogan Cruise Ship.

And the worst ones for jumping are the people in the really fast car or in super cars (lambo, Porsche etc)

Pff, the ones out of their minds are the ones parking their S15 up in a Carcoon in a shed somewhere and pretending it is a Sandman. I kind of loath the direction our cars are going in, because it is the opposite of what made them popular in the first place. In 10 years time, track days are going to consist of a field of VW Polos and Hyundai I30's, because 95% of people with a 90's performance car will be too scared to use it. Those 5% that will still be out there - you're the real MVP's.

I have seen this a few times now, do you not get penalized for jumping?

Otherwise I guess it is the potato olympics

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
