I dont know any mobile auto elecs, no. Will be taking pulsar to a motorsport wiring place to do stuff from scratch, seems like lots of auto elecs dont like f**king around with others peoples messes.

Also lol @ comparable deductions to other sparkies.
Claiming unnecessary performance mods for your car on tax is immoral. Like claiming dog food for security purposes.

Other thing to consider is warranty... Walkinshaw / harrop etc offer warranty, at a cost, haven't really looked into how it affects the manufacturer warranty if at all... But my mate recommended dynomotive or dpm, sounds like they offer more and better quality for less than walkinshaw etc...

Does their warranty cover your engine or just their component failing? Be surprised if any engine modification offered liability insurance against total engine failure given so many indirect variables can cause it.

Centrifugal chargers also have the tendency for an engine to not feel 'boosted' at all, a positive displacement charger you mostly feel down low, turbos give a big turbo kick we're all familar with

Centrifugal chargers just feel like a larger N/A engine, their power on a dyno is almost a completely straight 45 degree line. So you do get instant boost, but max boost is always at max engine RPM.

After installing turbos, my next car is going to be a supercharger setup.
Heat management > ALL.

A RB with a 300KW centrifugal charger instead of a Turbo would probably drive like a similarily powerful V8 N/A (like a LS1-2)
Except way less problems with heat, lines, plumbing, etc.

If I was adding F/I to a car which didn't ordinarily have F/I (like a S2000?) a centrifugal charger suddenly becomes really very viable.
 

I think there's a handful of people who have done supercharged RB's.... I don't think any of them recommended it.

 

Hell even the supercharged SR20 people usually go turbo afterwards. Same with F20 Honda motors

Engines too small.. by the time you add a charger you're making it struggle even more, say hello to your RB15 (1.5L, that's the joke) 

Is there any point spending money on a EJ257? from my research looks like minimal gains (intake exhaust tune ~35whp?) Asking for... a friend.

Changing the forced induction method on a vehicle that came factory with FI is very silly

Superchargers have a constant lag of their own that is just negated by the power gains when they start making a little boost. You'll notice it on a smaller engine and fuel economy will suffer even if not giving it stick

If you want that supercharger whine just do a gilmer drive or smash your air con compressor with a hammer until it whines

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps  
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car. 
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
