Slowly chipping away at it. Got the hole cut for the cooler piping and cut off the vband on the comp cover. 3.5" piping is going to be a bit of  struggle to fit under there as the tyre is fairly close to the guard already when full lock right. We will see tomorrow while the sun is out what exactly we are going to do.

We also tacked on the bends to mount the gates onto the manifold. Front one is going to be very tricky but I think we've found the best spot for it. See how we go tomorrow have even have it tacked up.

Not a lot happening lately. Got myself a new car so been enjoying that. Just waiting to recoupe some money so i can get the last bits and pieces to finish her off. Our 4" bends arrived yesterday, so gates will be welded on this week and should hopefully have atleast a dump pipe.

Some good progress today! Went down and picked up some fittings for the surge tank so we can finish the boot. The bulkheads are all fitted and ready for hardline to go on. Got one on today that came up ok. Might redo it and just use 90s instead of weird angles.

We have also been designing this powersteering bracket for a few weeks doing multiple tweaks on it to get it perfect. Won't be long till its the final result, just have to clean up the 3d printing a bit for a nicer finish and replace the bolts with buttom heads to clear the bonnet.

Also got all the pieces together for the dump pipe. Just gotta wait till monday to get a 4" flange and gasket to put in and then we can continue on with the exhaust. Also welded in the wideband bung aswell. I'll probably get around to mounting the can lambda sensor to the firewall as well as the 4port solenoid next week.

Little bit more done today! Surge tank is all plumbed up ready to go. Not 100% happy with it but it will do. Hopefully nothing leaks! Fuel system is almost all done now bar lines into the rail. Just need to hook up the 2 lines under the car to the hardline and shes good to go and run a braided line from the hardline to the fuel reg. Just need a couple straight fittings.

Mounted and wired my boost solenoid as well. Catch can will keep it hidden nicely. Also have to try and mount my link wideband module somewhere in there aswell.

Car is slowly coming along. Converter should be ready sometime this week. Ordered Hypertune gear today as well, v2 Intake Manifold with some special colours, and 600x325x100 Intercooler and 4x 3.5" hypertune clamps. Should be ready this week/receive early next week.

Fuel system is finished now! Except for rail anyway. Got a heap of fittings today to plumb catch can, turbo oil feed and drain, head drain and few other bits and pieces. Oil feed is done, and one side of my can. Gotta go change a couple fittings and ill finish plumbing it all up tomorrow.

Also gotta try and work something out for my heater. Not a big fan of those big brass fittings on there atm. Hopefully find something so i can run black fittings on it.

Tomorrow I have to get a few more fittings again fml, always forget something. Been down everyday this week so far. I have sorted fittings for coolant/heater path just need to swap the hose end to something bigger as it was too small for the heater hose. And I need to get some more 200series hose and a couple of fittings. That should be everything until we have to plumb up the fuel rail and plenum.

Finished the turbo drain and coolant hoses today. Come up pretty nicely, ive just gotta get some hose clamps and mount them to the firewall as I've deleted the factory plastic mount.

Mate also finished welding up the dump pipe as well. Got a super high flow cat being made up tomorrow and I'll grab a couple flanges and we can keep going with the rest of the exhaust.

Plan is to finish the exhaust off and finish welding everything up on the manifold so we can pull the motor out to fit up intake manifold and head drain. Drop motor back in see if it runs and no leaks then fab up intercooler piping which shouldnt be too bad.

Few little small things done today, cleaning lines and double checking over stuff. Surge tank is now 100% put clamps on pumps inside tank and put the oring in.

Got my wideband module mounted nice and stealthy location. Next week I've got to pull through 4 wires for it and get my mate to hook it up into the ecu.

Pulled my booster off aswell and dropped it down to my painter. Had it back in a couple hours. Flipped it aswell so theres no big dirty hose running across the top.

Finished off FPR. Line will get connected once plenum in is. Also threw a hose clamp on the hardline to give it a bit of support off the body.

Custom cat got made up today and went and picked that and a few flanges up and got stuck into the exhaust. Dump pipes all welded up now.

Jks lol fake cat!

We have made up the next little part of the exhaust but unfortunately exhaust shop only got sent the 3 instead of 4 flanges. So monday we'll get the other flange and also the magnaflow muffler.

Reason behind mounting the wide band stealthy?

Loving everything in the build. Should be a wild ride once complete

Want to keep the bay as clean as possible and clutter free.

Cherrs mate, can't wait to drive it!

Went down to the shop and got a bit more done today. Gates are almost complete. Just need to get some more pipe to replace the straight bits and make them a bit longer. Once that's done we'll weld them all up and finish welding everything on the manifold and send it off for coating.

Got some billet clamps for the -3 fittings aswell. Looks shit hot compared to a ziptie ??

Also got the 90 welded onto comp cover and hole cut a bit bigger to suit. Gotta wait for hypertune gear to come so we can work out what we need as there will be a clamp going before it 90s down.

Top build do you know what  a 3.4 can rev 2 as I'm thinking of going spool 3.2 or 3.4

We'll only be revving it to around 8500rpm, depending if it's still making power or not. I know JEM rev's theirs 9500rpm.

Exhaust is almost finished! It's currently all tacked together, so tomorrow it will be getting welded up, along with fixing up the screamers. Exhaust turned out awesome. Mate wanted a cannon not an oval muffler so I got a cannon to put on.

Surprisingly the 4" system sits up really nicely! It's probably got about 140mm clearance under it. It does have stock suspension though.

This weeks game plan is tomorrow pull box off and get measurement for new converter then that is ready, finish welding up exhaust and manifold then prep motor to come out for head drain. Thursday take mani off to get coated, install head drain and plumb to sump.

Going to order a spal 16" 3000cfm fan to put on my current rad that will bolt onto the hypertune radiator when I get sround to getting one. Hypertune said they should have stuff to me next week.

Next week will be a bit of a push to get it all done rear for roll racing on saturday but we will see how we go.

Not much going on at this point. Pulled hot side out and welded up the mani and sent off for ceramic coating, should be back mid next week.

Pulled the motor out yesterday to do the head drain and also fix the heater hoses to the wall then dropped it back in. Everything is getting bolted in now for good.

Might head down today and finish welding the exhaust and wire in the wideband and a few other things to get it ready.

Little bits and pieces to sort out here and there. Have to mod powersteering pump and bring it forward to suit the rb26 ATi damper and also work something out to bring the powersteering hose straight off the pump to run to the resi in it's new location.

Had a couple dramas with the gearbox situation... My new converter has been made but my converter height I need is too small for him to finish it off. So I need to source an rb30 jatco bellhousing which is about 20mm longer than my rb25(?) one and possibly an adapter to suit. Then have to my tailshaft shortened to suit and remount the gearbox. Probably dreaming a bit to get it done by next weekend now... Also still waiting in hypertune stuff to rock up.

    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
    • I was able to get some underside photos while the car was on the ramp The suspension is all Altezza/IS200/IS300 so getting part's will hopefully be less of a headache
