This is a running joke with my mates actually, that I'm a drifter.

I hate flat brim caps, not a fan of drifting/drifters and at the last event I did a little slide and managed to not f**k it up so now I'm a drifter apparently lol

The drifting community, the bad elements, ruined a lot of what was good about the JDM "scene" if you want to call it that. Also gutted the prices for cars/parts (good and bad depending if you're buying/selling) and was far too representative of the dumbass yolo concept.

I've found some of them are OK, and funnily enough the ones that are usually grip drive also.

I do love me some rice, but I'm fairly anti drift/drifters. It's the only "motorsport" that's judged by anything other than measurable numbers. I fully admit there's lots of skill in doing it well and that I do not have, nor will ever have, nor want, that skill, but I can appreciate it when I see it.

A mate of mine is 1st in line to buy it, but honestly, I only "lose" what I've spent on it if I sell it so I might as well just keep enjoying the R&D that's gone into it.

I'd say the GT-R will be sold before this.

Been slowly making progress.

Borrowed guard roller and lined up panel beater for this weekend.

Come across a near new GTX2860R, only a Kinugawa. Would have preferred 2863 but this was half price. Has a T3 vband rear on it so if anyone wants to swap me for a T2 standard 5 bolt housing let me know.

Been looking at WMI as well, blame DosePipe for that. I don't wanna move the Silvia to e85 and WMI will get me most of the result while not needing to change my fuel setup beyond a small bump in injectors to support the bigger turbo.

Wouldn't mind building a setup but don't see how you save much on the average kit costs. Thoughts welcome.

Did consider I could've bought a 2863 for the price of WMI and 2860 but I wouldn't get the benefit of the additional timing or cooler temps.

See how I go on the WMI front, still on the fence.

Still meaning to buy a helmet and Hans but bought turbo instead... Woops!

Buy in a complete water injection kit.  Will save a LOT of hunting around for the right bits.  Yes the benefits are there to be had, and they're worth taking.

HANS should probably have taken a higher priority in the purchases stakes, but there's nothing to stop you getting a setup before taking this thing for its next run.

Yeah will still get a Hans, especially with this huge turbo upgrade that might see me into the low 200rwkw range lol

Not rolling the guards is a back saving measure. I'm off to the specialist in October to see what we can do there.

Rolling guards was not in my best interest and for $150, worth saving a few hours of my weekend :D

We'll illness ruined plans this weekend.

Neighbour is sick so he won't be doing guards.

I've come down with what the girls had, so happy father's day to me.

Got a the EBC in yesterday before I got hit. Very simple install.

Not hooked up to wastegate actuator yet as I'm planning on going external with the new turbo.

Guard rolling was a fail, need to go too far out.

Looking at something slimline like this, unless someone has a better 20-25mm or so option that doesn't require a full quarter replacement.

Turbo here this week, but no rush on fitting as i wanna get tyres on and go do laps.

Get around china's finest.

Ordered some of those 30mm flares. Long wait for them though, couldn't find anything locally.

Tinkering away on the some other bits and pieces.

Just a 60, it was half price and new so couldn't pass it up given I almost never see any gtx stuff second hand, let alone new fit second hand prices.

I need to deal the rear housing as its T3 and v band.

So if anyone has a T2 .64 standard 5 bolt dump let me know.

    • Yep that is correct. It allows you to adjust the short throw range from what I can tell
    • Car has been running great, I've put about 300km's of break in time on it. First thing that stands out with properly sealing rings is no more noticeable crankcase smell coming out of my catch can. This may seem insignificant, but the constant smell while driving around was infuriating. It's also nice to see my oil level remain stable. Two new issues have developed that I only noticed this weekend though. There's a very noticeable driveline vibration past 100kmh. I only noticed it now as I've been babying it under 100kmh in the backroads. This comes as no surprise as I'm running a one-piece shaft, and I paid zero attention to my driveshaft angle when I put everything back in. I also have a fair bit of voltage drop on hot starts. The starter audibly is forcing. No issues on cold start though. I must not have removed all the paint under my main block ground during assembly. I'll try and take care of both those issues this week once the kids are asleep.  I also received all the parts I was missing for my direct port setup. I will hopefully have pictures of that up soon. I'm hoping to get back on the dyno the week of June 30th as I'll be on vacation. I'm confident I should be able to make north of 500rwkw on pump gas and WMI. I'll go back again later this summer with E98, but I want to confirm my ethanol content sensor is working properly first. I've never seen it read anything but 11%. This makes sense for our 10% ethanol content pump gas here, but I would expect the occasional movement between fill ups.
    • 75% complete. Will now need to get a new axle with 5x114.3 hubs and then figure out how to customize some mudguards for it once the wheels are on.
    • Trailer prep is underway... Lined up the wheel to get a rough indication of how it would sit Then removed all the bits (as far as possible) and gave the frame a light sand and quick lick of paint   Then added some carpet
    • okay, so I figured this out, removed needles and reinstalled after swapping the gauge face on my triple gauge for my ER34, all work and look good. I tried to do the same for the main cluster, but the main cluster gauge faces are dished, the replacement gauge face are flat, so due to the dish in the org face ,mounting backing plate (clear) and depth of the needle, the flat gauge face will not work. I notice that R34 gtr gauges are flat, appears to be different clear backing plate that aren't dished. are these available, or what have others done to install flat gauge faces?
