Auto or manual? Post some updated pics of all sides of the car, bit hard to tell condition based on that one pic

These are good, only problem is that the paint flakes off extremely easily on them.

vic Magnaflow twin tip muffler.
vxsr33 posted a topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi guys, i have for sale a new and unused magnaflow twin tip muffler 3 inch outlet, twin 3 inch tips. Perfect condition Was going to fit it to my car but as you can see in the picture the inlet diameter reduces to around 2.5 inches where the piping splits. I was OCD about having 3 inch piping the whole way through so i decided not to fit it. Probably one of the best looking mufflers in my opinion, i test fitted it on my 33gtst and it looked perfect. Selling for $250 firm. These are $400 new. Located Melbourne, will post at buyers expense. 0413 103 732 -
Daymo's R32 GTS-T

Nice progress so far. I would also prefer the sound deadening, 8.9kg isnt much and i would assume the dynamat would work better than the old factory stuff. -
Help, What coilovers go on a 2000 r34 gt sedan?
vxsr33 replied to Billy 34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Give it a go yourself and save your money. its very easy, will probs take about 3 or 4 hours if you haven't done it before. -
I picked one up for $20 off gumtree so definitely don't get one from nissan. Look on gumtree for people wrecking their cars in your area. You could also get a GK tech performance clutch fan for $80 + $20 for their clutch fan adaptor. Supposedly these are supposed to cool much better than the stock fan with no drawbacks.

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
vxsr33 replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm running RSR's and they are awful, but i think thats due to the fact they are over 5 years old. The road noise alone is enough to make me not like them, and the RSRR is supposedly even louder. -
Sand all over with 600grit, clean with wax and grease remover then use some VHT high temp primer followed by VHT high temp paint, then high temp clearcoat if you want. Do lots of light coats 5 mins apart. Probably dont need to use high temp paint but it can't hurt. Keep in mind painting your piping will decrease heat disapation therefore keeping more heat in the piping.

Does anyone know if the manual gtst and auto gtst tachometers are interchangeable?
-
Yeah actually completely forgot the turbo one has the cut out for the boost guage, thanks.
-
My tachometer has stopped working in my r33 gtst S2 manual. Pulled the speedo cluster apart and re-soldered the joints but it didn't fix it. Can i use another tachometer from any other R33 cluster to replace my broken one? Or would it to be specifically from a s2 r33 turbo manual?

Vq25det turbo perfect for highflow
vxsr33 replied to Jimmybutton's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Fair enough. I bought a blown R34 OP6 turbo to highflow for $50. I guess blown VQ25det turbo's must be worth more... -
R33 gtst wheel + tyre fitment
vxsr33 replied to RBtheworld's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'm running similiar; 17 x 9 +12 with rolled guards and around 2.5 degrees camber at all 4 corners. Sits flush with the guards and doesn't scrub or rub whatsoever even under full lock. Running 235 40 federal rsr's (more like a 245 or 255 profile as the rsr runs wider than the stated width). Planning on running 255's next tyre change. You might have to roll your guards lightly to get those wheels to fit. You could run 255/35/18 tyres all round which will give you a good amount of grip, the correct rolling diameter, and will look pretty aggressive. Will definitely fit the rears not 100% sure if it will rub at the fronts, might have to trim off some of the bits that stick out on the plastic guard liners. -

Best bang for your buck way to get to 300rwkw imo. I wish i looked more into going E85 flex before i got a power fc.

Is it just me or is $400 for a rooted turbo a little high? -
Nismo 2 Way Lsd Vs Kaaz Vs Shimmed Lsd
vxsr33 replied to donut_kng's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
2 year bump Does anyone know the best place to purchase a nismo 1.5 way? And what other diff options are there besides kaaz and nismo? I've heard the nismo is more a bit more quiet so im leaning towards that but on the other hand I've heard kaaz is more servicable and has local rebuild support. How long do the clutch packs last? This will be going on my r33 gtst which gets driven 4 or 5 times a week and will hopefully see the drag strip and a few skidpan days soon, and hopefully the track in the future. -
^^^^ Or if you're a cheapo like me you can cut the stock rubber one in half and slide both halves over a length of 3 inch alloy pipe. Stops it from closing up under boost and looks factory.

Sweet build thread, i just read the whole thing 280rwkw with an rb20 is impressive, and some people say they are crap motors.

What kind of power figures are you aiming for once it's done? -

Looks right... You have to be more specific though. Placement of turbo looks normal? -
R33 gtst missfiring problem?
vxsr33 replied to Mitch r33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
So did you test drive it at 9psi and it's still cutting out? Just take off the boost T and use a straight through connector if you have one. R&R shouldn't occur once the boost is lowered. -
R33 gtst missfiring problem?
vxsr33 replied to Mitch r33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Sound's like R&R (rich and retard). The stock ecu is seeing more air than it's used to so it tries to protect the engine by adding more fuel and retarding the timing. This would make sense since the problem started after you installed the fmic and raised the boost which would result in increased airflow. This causes a loss of power and the misfiring feeling. You could try clean your AFM with some MAF cleaner and dropping the boost 1 or 2 psi, the problem should go away then. Are you sure you are running only 10psi and not higher?
