  1. No point fixing them if they are junk coilovers to begin with. Your better off saving up for some decent coilovers, maybe something like BC's or MCA blues
  2. Thanks for sharing, hopefully this info can help steer some people in the right direction. Always a hit or miss with cheaper ebay stuff.
  3. Can't you get the other person to pay for a new guard since they reversed into you? I would just get another guard if you want it to be perfect.
  4. Remove spark plugs, unplug CAS, put comp tester in cylinder and crank over around 5 times, repeat for each cylinder. Next put a few drops of oil in each cylinder and repeat the comp test. If the readings are higher when the oil is put in its most likely piston rings. 45 - 75 psi sounds extremely low.
  5. Just seems strange the R34 GTR isn't faster or at least the same as the R33 around the ring. You would think they are nearly identical with the R34 being slightly improved. But yeah after some quick googling the times you posted are right, but i still reckon that the R33 must have had different tyres, running more boost or better driver. 29 seconds is a huge gap.
  6. R33 gtr 28 seconds faster around the ring than an R34? Where did you get this information from that doesn't sound right.
  7. Thanks for the heatshield admS15 haha
  8. Not a bad price if its a manual gtt
  9. What i would suggest is getting a cheap daily for at least a year. You'll be kicking yourself if you ding your shiny GT within the first month of driving. This will also give you time to really decide what car you want. Just keep the R34 clean, buy some nice wheels, coilovers, leave it at that and don't spend any more on mods. Learn to do your basic servicing yourself and you will have a nice car that is reliable and fairly cheap to run. If your car is well kept you should be able to make most your money back when you decide to sell. Don't get the GT if it's out of your budget (if you need to get a loan for it forget it).
  10. If this is still for sale 6 years later ill buy it off you
  11. Oh damn if you were in Vic i was going to ask if i could possibly buy the seats off you. GLWS
  12. These tyres are way too big for skylines, the speedo will be off and the fronts will scrub. More suitable for cars like ve-vf commodores.
  13. How much did you buy the car back for? And what did RACV value your car at? If you don't mind me asking
  14. That looks pretty good. How many cans did you need?
  15. Would prefer not to use 2 pack, i don't want to make my asthma worse. Would need around 3 cans for base coat and 3 for clear (im guessing) so that's $180 there already. Thats why i was thinking might as well get a spray gun. Just trying to find out how much a decent one will cost and recommendations. I can always just forget about the boot, just trying to weigh out my options
  16. I know a pro will do much better job but even $300 is too much for me. I already have an excellent condition boot with GTR spoiler on my 33gtst. i prefer the standard spoiler so i picked up a gtst s2 spoiler and new boot with the intention of smoothing over the nissan lock and repainting. I'm just looking at just giving it a go myself just to have a bit of fun and get some experience with spray painting. That's why i was thinking it might be good to invest in a compressor and spray gun so i can paint this and any other parts in the future. If i was painting my only boot then i would defiantly get a pro to do it.
  17. How much would a decent air compressor and spray gun set me back? Will be spraying acryllic not 2 pack
  18. I've heard the HKS gtrs is good for around 250rwkw. I'm only hoping for a responsive 240 so it should meet my requirements.
  19. Why would he be stuck with the gt? He is only just about to get his licence so has 4 years
  20. Was expecting boost full boost to come on around 4200 especially since i got the ball bearing CHRA for $400 extra. Engine comp isn't the best but the motor seems to run well and idle smoothly. I spoke to Tao about it, he said something like check the preload on the wastegate because it could be opening up too early and he said to check if VCT is working. All i can say is the response with the HKS is amazing, feels like the stock turbo or even better. Although i haven't boosted it over 5psi since i need a tune.
  21. Nahh i left it as is and drove the car for around 6 months until recently as i swapped the highflow for a HKS gtrs (better response). Car needs a retune now and I'm planning to take it to chequered. Imo just go with chequered, you literally can't go wrong with them i haven't heard of a single person that hasn't been satisfied with their service. Just make sure your car is up to scratch for the dyno like do a good service on it, clean coils and change plugs etc because they only tune. I don't think they will fix any mechanical issues you may encounter on the dyno. Either way I'm sure you will get a great tune from whichever tuner you pick
  22. Personally I've been to chasers for a tune and i wasn't too happy with the outcome. At the time i had a hypergear g3 r34 highflow turbo on my r33 gtst, blitz return flow cooler, full exhaust and all supporting mods. I was happy with the power of 250rwkw at 16psi, what i wasn't happy with was the fact the car was making full boost at 5000rpm. When i saw the dyno sheet i had a chat to paul the tuner about why it was so laggy and he basically just told me it's the turbo and he can't do anything about it. Even though i had a return flow cooler, exhaust was a bit restrictive (wasn't too bad though) and the bigger turbo i don't think i should have been reaching full boost no where near that late. I wasn't happy to not get any suggestions or solutions other than to get another turbo. Not trying to bag chasers out or anything just sharing my experience, heaps of other people have been very happy with their service. Other than that the car felt way smoother to drive, idled perfectly, cold start was perfect aswell. Imo if you have a hypergear turbo go to chequered since they deal with hypergear all the time.
