  2. Yeah 16psi at 4000rpm seems normal for -7s so there's definitely something going on with your setup. Upping pre-load seems like a reasonable first step in diagnosis (since its free ). Just check that their operation is synchronised with a hand pump after the adjustment.
  3. Agree with all the above. Measure the resistance of the mag clutch solenoid. On the 32 GTRs it should be 3.5 ohms, I imagine it would be the same on yours. If its much lower than 3.5 it will pull too much current and blow the fuse. When mine went I found info on here that they can be re-wound, but i just got a good second hander.
  4. To be pedantic, its just oil pump drive. You only need the collar if you are fixing an early crank.
  5. Was that photo taken before Police could establish what was happening? Did he then stay away from the windows, with victims holding up flags in the windows, because he was worried about getting sniped? The only story i heard was that he had a sawn off double barrel shot gun. If that's the case, then he was only ever likely to kill two people.
  6. Your system requires a way to quickly and accurately establish intent. How would you do that?
  7. OP, are you talking about going to the Mines shop and getting them to burn a custom EEPROM for your car? (This is OK) GTSBoy is talking about getting a random ECU with a Mines sticker and slapping it in your car. (This is not OK)
  8. nope.jpg For sale section is here: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/forum/12-for-sale-private-car-parts-and-accessories/
  9. If he's taking your stuff, yes. If you think he's going to harm/kill you then you can defend yourself. For example, if you think "i am in fear of my life" and you accidentally smash him harder than is required so stop him killing you, because you're not an expert fighter, then you may be ok. I'd imagine that if it was a his word against yours thing in court, you'd probably be more believable being the victim.
  10. If shifting is hard cold but not so bad hot, then synthetic oil of the correct viscosity may help. If you've never changed the gearbox oil, then now is a good time to do it. Lightweight shockproof is great if the sychros are worn - its sort of a band-aid to defer the inevitable rebuild. If you've got a short shifter, swap back to the stock shifter.
  11. ^ Interesting - that's another aspect of larger population = more power. Also, letting in younger immigrants could be used offset the ageing population, but i don't know if the system is setup that way, but it should be.
  12. Probably enemy of our enemy stuff - Iran didn't like him either. Totally agree his treatment by Aus legal system was way too soft. Also, definitely an Intelligence miss, but lone psychos are harder to catch.
  13. I've always assumed its because more people = bigger economy (easy way to keep growth going) = more power. If you look at population density, resources etc, compared to other countries, Australia is no-where near full, even if you take out all the useless desert. Personally I would prefer to keep the population low, but I believe expanding the population enjoys support from both sides of politics
  14. Re the anti-squeal shims, the ones on my GTR have two thin plates which sort of clip together, whereas i notice in your pix there's only one. So, GTT owners, should he have one or two plates per pad?
  15. If you're getting it engineered then a passed IM240 means you can bypass the block/car age issue, non-factory tune issue etc. Of course that only covers tailpipe emissions - you still need charcoal canister, plumbed in PCV etc. (Assuming i understood what the Engineer said at the SAU NSW tech evening).
  16. Take step back. You choices are; 1. Get a nice highflow cat and get on with your life 2. Get a killswitch and know that you will still cop a defect, and may potentially get an EPA fine, and will have deal with a lot of heat if you ever have to use it. You brain seems stuck on the killswitch idea, and you need to let that go. As far as ideas go, its a loser.
  17. Must easier just to get a well made exhaust. Running a decat is for the sort of people that throw rubbish out the window, ie, dirtbags. IMO they give the community a bad name. And yeah they'll just write you a defect anyway. They can still write a defect if the car is not defective, they just have to suspect its defective (or if you fail the idiot test they'll write you one up to f**k with you).
  18. I'm not confident we all have the same understanding of backlash, so from Wikipedia "In mechanical engineering, backlash, sometimes called lash or play, is clearance or lost motion in a mechanism caused by gaps between the parts". In the diagram below as gears wear the backlash increases. I cant see how changing a clutch can effect backlash.
  19. Jebuz - who recommended 10 and 5? I would assume that going to be a whole new world of understeer....(assuming you're talking spring rate in kg/mm)
  20. I would have thought that an attessa problem would just wear out the transfer case prematurely. How could it stuff the front diff? Why would it stuff the rear diff? The rear's always on anyways.
  21. There's been multiple thread on this in the past. Searchy time. Do you have the factory anti-squeal hardware? If not, get it.
  22. Weird. I've heard of 3 and 4 solenoid units, the difference being whether the rear wheels use a single circuit for both wheels or one for each. Any idea what the 6 are for?
  23. What was the last thing you changed before the misfire started? What dwell are you running on the coils?
  24. I'd change your oil too - its probably contaminated.
