  1. Surprisingly mid to high 40s only. I didn't export the logs this time for the S15, was only a quick 1 hour tune to full send
  2. 14 degrees mid range, sweeping up to 19 up top. Tried to pop in a few more, but wasn't worth it, as each degree only net an extra 1~2kWs.
  3. Not really, now I have just wasted more money lol.. more money that could have been saved for a BMW lol Scored a free track day, my mate paid for it since I tuned his car. Speaking of which, that S15 I tuned a while back with fuelling issues came back with a solid 274kW at 1.7bar boost on a GTX2860R Gen 2. It's making numbers of the older GTX2867R Gen 1 but at least 400~500rpm earlier.
  4. Very streetable, you get about 1bar of boost by 4100rpm and the power is quite linear. If you look at the faint dotted lines when I took a photo of the dyno screen you can see that torque is relatively flat too. As the car was going on the dyno, I borrowed a pair of old AD08R which were rock hard (didn't want to destroy my semis), on the way home was pretty funny. Roll into 3rd and the tyres would blaze LOL. I'm heading to Wakefield this Sunday, should be a good shakedown!
  5. Time for an update to the shit box, this time with bigger and badder dose pipe for you dose bitches. Nearly 3 years in the making too 407kW @ 2bar -> 1.8bar on E85. Mainline AWD dyno, with 16kph/sec ramp rate. Mods: Garrett GTX3576R Gen 2 Garrett T3 1.01 divided rear housing Turbosmart Gen V 50mm Sinco T3 twinscroll, single gate manifold (pulses split to the gate seat) 3.5" Turbo back with 5" body Venom Cat, 2x Mufflers Generic built RB25DET NEO motor Spool billet oil pump gears Tomei 260/9.15 Poncams 80lb Valve Springs & Ti Retainers by Performance Springs HDi Hybrid 76mm eBay FMIC (holding back the power) With high IATs air density is dropping, thus boost is bleeding off as well with small DC corrections on the boost DC table. I did order a Plazmaman Pro cooler but it didn't arrive on time. IAT peaked at 57 degrees C in a dyno room with an ambient temp of 19 degrees C. From the data, reducing the IAT will improve the boost control up top, get more air into the motor and will yield the results I'm after. Once the FMIC comes, I'll be back for round 2. Special Thanks to: Alex at Birrong Automotive for allowing me to use his dyno Adam at Weldspeed for the fabrication work Yez Racing for supplying most of the parts Data, etc. available in my build thread here: Sorry for the lack of derived RPM, I forgot to set it up, in the Analyse screen it shows you true RPM vs. Power vs. Torque. Log during run: IAT post run:
  6. There's a slight difference as I run a cat converter in the car.. yes it has a cat If a car runs a cat I never rely on the rear tailpipe sniffer for tuning, it's there as just a guide. I always insist running a wideband before the cat/cat area to get a proper representation of how the motor is behaving. Not to mention, if there are small exhaust leaks, that will introduce foreign air from a venturi.
  7. I'm running Bosch 1480cc at 3 bar (often called 1550cc, or 1650cc depending on who you talk to). At the back I have 2x Wallahbro 460s in an AI SPR400 tank, and a DW200 lift pump. Both 460s are PWM and DC is ramped as boost increases. No silly potato staging, to avoid spikes.
  8. I believe from the data, the boost behaviour is due to the increase in IATs. I do have an IAT correction table which adds an extra 1% every 10 degrees the IAT climbs (probably not enough). And yes, that's how the Kebabtech works. You have a base ignition table and you add a correction/compensation based on ethanol. What you see in that table is when E85 = 100%. There's another table where you can adjust the blend too. If you look at my dashboard view, second column 2nd row that's the actual timing, and 2nd column 3rd row is the base timing. I'm confident I'll get it to that unicorn 600hp mark for internet bragging rights ?
  9. I rather go put on a Kando turbo (optioned with ball bearing & billet comp wheel) off eBay than a used HKS2535 turbo.
  10. It took me 1.5 years to tune the car, if I put back stock cams then go and tune it again we would be all dead lol. We both can hypothesise it could come on earlier however make less power.
  11. Close, a few things happened with Sparesbox and many heated phone calls later I ended up with the original turbo but with a free rear housing Carrot GTX3576R Gen 2 Carrot T3 1.01 divided rear housing Turbosmart Gen V 50mm Sinco T3 twinscroll, single gate manifold (pulses split to the gate seat) Tomei 260/9.15 Cams 80lb Valve Springs & Ti Retainers by Performance Springs Chyna Hybrid 76mm FMIC
  12. That's also very true, good way of explaining it - thanks for that! However, I am confident there's a bit more in with a better FMIC. I've already ordered a Plazmaman Pro core 2x weeks ago, but there's a big backlog (was hoping to get it before the dyno day but nope )
  13. Looking a bit deeper into the data, the GM open body IAT sensor, still doesn't read fast enough. After I backed off, you can see the real IAT temperatures. It peaked at 57 degrees C (for you flat earth Americans that's 135 degrees F), chilling down the charge temp will definitely net that extra power quite easily. Also @Lithium you might be interested Base Ignition table Compensation table (yes it looks a but ugly, but will linearise it later)
  14. @Murray_Calavera done! I believe it would have taken a few more degrees but I chose boost > timing. Wasn't planning to run this much boost, but things didn't go to plan and I wanted to see 400kW+ LOL Base timing table: Compensation Table: Approximately where peak torque was: Digging a bit deeper, looks like the IATs got pretty warm at 57 degrees, a new FMIC will get me that 430~440kW target! Kebabtech Log file (useless if opened in excel, use Data Log Viewer): 407kW Birrong_Log.csv
  15. Once you upcap that motor, you know what happens.... The money vortex opens up (as me how I know)
  16. I could have made it come on a bit earlier, however getting the 4 port dialled in is not fun, spent a bit of time troubleshooting it with Alex @ Birrong Automotive. It's so sensitive, even at 16hz and with a 0.5bar gate spring sub 50% duty cycle and I can command in 2bar of boost. Dropping the solenoid frequency down to low teens caused a ripple in boost however allowed for better control. I ended up ordering a 76mm because I am tight arse lol. Once the cooler goes on and I try to keep the 2bar all the way to the rev limiter, I am sure that 430~440kW mark isn't far off!
  17. People love dyno sheets, dyno sheet now included. Some data too Replay View
  18. Thread revival So finally was bothered to get my car on the dyno today, and results are pretty promising. 407kW with close to 2bar of boost, still having some small boost issues. 4 port solenoids are actually much harder to tune than expected. Needed to drop the solenoid frequency down to 16hz. Using the recommended 30hz was horrific, the car would overshoot into the moon. Initially the gate had a 1bar spring, however running a 0.5bar spring helped dramatically. Shout out to Alex and the team at Birrong Automotive for letting me do r&d on my own shitbox. They do some wicked builds there and the worksmanship is amazing. If you need a serious built car, bring it there! Will be back for round 2 when my Plazmaman cooler arrives, will try up the solenoid operating frequency too. Forgot to set up the derived RPM so no RPM reading nor derived torque. Logs off Kebabtech: Dyno sheet:
  19. Thank you to Alex and the team at Birrong Automotive for letting me use their workshop and dyno. 2bar boost just because why not, 19 degrees of timing. There's more in it, however the intake temps are kissing mid 40s with the China bing bong core. I did order a Plazmaman Pro Series but didn't come in time. I'll grab the logs and dyno sheet off my laptop later.
  20. Rather put a NEO head on, save money for cocaine and strippers or hookers.
  21. Come finish my build in Australia, much better country too.
  22. 5.5k RPM full boost, responsive. Rev to 10k because American?
  23. And why convert to solid lifters? I am curious to know.
