  1. Mine is always around 5 to 10 degrees cooler than the water temp on normal days. On the track it's usually in sync
  2. T They perform differently on a SR - I fitted and tuned a set of 1000cc and my mate is getting 400km per tank on E85. Only about 120km less per tank than 98RON
  3. as you remove it you'll loose extra power steering assist, it's there to detect lower speed and allow more assistance to the power steering rack and as you hit a certain road speed the assistance drops off leaving you with a more planted car
  4. I'm planning to move to these injectors: http://www.injectorshop.com.au/product/siemens-ev14-875cc-12-ohm/ I've contacted the shop - however still waiting on a response.
  5. I run boring BREEZE clamps and my shit box sees 1.5bar day in day out
  6. Hey Cal, thanks for your offer however if I'm taking out the rail it's never seeing my intake manifold again I'm adamant on top feeds, Siemen DEKA ones seem to fit the bill and requirements - they have a 30 degree cone spray pattern and come in short form which will clear all my plenum woes.. however Proflow / Aeroflow fuel rails only support 3/4 length top feeds. Once I find out the exact requirements/way to fit 1/2 length ones I'll convert soon enough. These Five O injectors are pissing me off - ironically they work a treat on my friend's S15.. but yes, they're smaller at only 1000cc and are feeding a hungrier cylinder so it works out well.
  7. I only have idle issues once I try and go leaner than 13.5 on idle.. on cruise it will sit close to 14 and far and piss a little around 13.8 AFRs seem to be ok.. but I don't want it that rich.. I'm just wasting fuel and ruining my economy.. On 98RON - forget about it.. car idles and cruises in the 12 region any leaner and just misses farts & pops.. Potato man, go leaner! I've got my friend's S15 cruising at 16.5 AFRs and he's getting consistent ~400km per 45L (when the red light goes on)
  8. But they're not re-manufactured like the Five O Injectors, I've had it with the shit spray pattern. They refuse to go any leaner than 13.5 AFR on E85 (gasoline scaling) and maintain a stable idle. On cruise I can't go any leaner than stoich without stupid pops and farts. On E85 I would like to lean cruise in the 16 AFR region, but with these injectors - forget about it! They either spray fuel like a garden hose OR they don't... I have no idea why the American forums rave about them - I'm moving towards the idea most of the positives are from member who do not do any tuning themselves thus aren't totally across the technical constraints these injectors pose. After my rudimentary injector test using glass bottles, I can contest the spray & pray pattern is atrocious! Let's see what Mr Tax man feels like this year, either a massive fisting (no new injectors) or he rewards (going top feed, the works)
  9. More maintenance with the EVO you constabtly need to flush out the AYC pump and bleed it to keep it happy. So you'll tend to drive the EVO less, the Skyline however is like a camel runs on barely anything and keeps on going thus you'll prefer to drive that more and most importantly the Skyline has a larger fuel tank.
  10. Great news I really regret buying mine now, these injectors are just horrible there's just no control at minimum pulse width. It's impossible to get a lean idle or cruise with these as it will just refuse to supply the right fuel. On E85 my cruise and idle is about 13.5 to 14 AFR any leaner and the car refuses to drive smoothly. Once I've got some cash flow, the Five O injectors are coming out. No more garden hoses - I want a nice cone spray pattern!
  11. photos are here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/442255-fs-syd-parts-for-skylines-s15-new-used/page-2#entry7341501
  12. are these the Siemens Deka ones? I've had enough of the 1200cc Five O Motorsport garden hose injectors..
  13. more of an update.. my venom cat is still in one piece! that's with me cracking the anti-lag and hitting the rev limiter often too (I use ignition cut).. loads of bangs, still loads of cat
  14. In conclusion for those people who are here for a quick answer Gap based on requirements, for all normal to mild just stick to 0.8mm for whatever fuel.. If your coil packs are shit, either replace them or gap your plugs down. For crazy cars, safe bet if you need less than 0.8mm Me personally, I use 6 heat range with 0.8mm gap and have no misfires on E85.
  15. Convert to a VNT turbo, haven't seen anyone really use them on a RB26.. I know Stao from HyperGear has a few prototype ones going around on his RB25 test rig and it has produced marvellous results.
  16. No you guys are all wrong Stage 5 = 500hp
  17. Lol they even peeled off the timing belt sticker and also the seats look worn as shit for a car with supposedly under 80000 km... Also love how the odometer lines up real well Fuarking dealers - never can trust any of these monkeys
  18. Have you set your base timing properly? you need to pull off the TPS connector and timing it off coil 1 using a spark lead. Also you will need to adjust your idle control valve screw with the TPS unplugged so it sits at 700rpm before you time it at 15 degrees. With the stock ECU I suggest you don't run more than 0.7bar, even the slightest hint of spike will make have a mental breakdown. Once all that is running well, hit up Toshi from this forum and get yourself a remapped factory R33 ecu.. wind in 0.85bar and enjoy 200kW till you're bored.
  19. Nistune Adaptronic Haltech of course that's with cost increasing and my experience.. others would recommend Link G4/ViPec (which also looks like good options)
  20. You could go back to 98 to reduce lag but do you want to? lol E85 EGTs are lower, so theoretically there will be more lag experienced - however you're able to dial in more timing in the mid range so you have a fatter torque where it counts.
  21. maybe half a ton less lol... my car is full trim, nothing is missing + wads of sound deadening on the doors haha
  22. oh ferk off LOL I'm as close to dino tech these days with those injectors
