^ let's see what happens once I feed them E85 also hope my motor doesn't go pop too.. probably has 400 000+ on the clock from all the dodgy odo rewinds from dealer, owner 1, owner 2, owner 3, owner 4, owner 5 LOL anyhow, just a random side note.. with the SS2 (stock manifold & gate off housing) I'm able to get 1.4bar at 3800rpm on the highway in 4th.. pretty crazy... but I run pretty low timing, only 11 degrees at that rpm vs. load.
-
Have you ever ran them on 98 though? E85 "should" mask up the garden hose effect as up to 30% more fuel is required to idle, not to mention more timing too. I had similar AFR issues on my mate's S15. After visiting united and me tweaking his tune the injectors do exactly what I tell them to do (massive thread on nissansilvia.com) however without the misfire and stumbling on idle and light cruise. On a RB25DET though they're a croc of shit with 98RON - I can lean them out but the car misses like a 2 stroke mower. Had to pump so much latency into the settings the car now just idles about 12.5 but at least it's not stumbling around. I read up on NASIOC and guys have the same issue with these injectors on their EJs, they just can't seem to have any control with normal pump fuel and however success rate increases with E85. So time for E85 and bye bye whatever economy I had lol

I've installed a similar set, however 1000cc on a SR20DET and it idled and drove well without missing - although on the rich side. With the same set, but in 1200cc on a RB25DET they're horrible! I would imagine on E85 it would be better as you require more fuel on idle. Probably time to man up and go to united next weekend lol

don't use heat shrinks in fuel tanks, even though they're "chemical" resistant after a while they go soft and slide off.
-
try earthing your pump, sometimes the drop resistor OR FCCM (fuel controller) dies
-
hahahhaa... I bought some replacements (actually bought 2, 1x spare) man.. that looks sexy
-
gahhh... you bastard LOL... tempted to convert to top feed (yes yes, I should have listened).. however on a SR20DET they work well, this is probably due to head design.. RB seems to have more material in the middle of each intake ports hence a fire hydrant fuel injector doesn't "dribble" down properly.

Not sure how everyone has good results with Five O 1200cc sidefeeds. I barely can get the car to idle unless it rich as shit. (this is on 98RON, hoping on E85 it idles better as it requires more fuel) On the upside, I've got plenty of fuel now. Gave it a few good hits at 1.4bar, and car pulls pretty hard. Hiring a dyno probably in a fortnight, let's see what she pumps out.

Rb26 Adjusting/balancing Throttle Linkages
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to SiR_RB's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
never done it on a car before, but is it the same as for a bike? i.e. 1x vacuum gauge per throttle and just sync up the vacuum. -
300Kw Unopened 25 Club...
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just change the ramp rate like some workshops OR run it in 3rd OR put 16" wheels on the back with not too sticky tyres. I put my mates S15 on the dyno and realised why we got a high number was because I did a run in 4th instead of 5th LOL (forgot it was 6 speed). -

Bought My First Turbo Car
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to BatmanBarrie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
better we set this guy's expectations up front first before he decides to spent his $700+ per week trying to make a RB20DET go like a rocket ship, true? I was once young, naive and silly too.. I spent decent amounts of money on a RB20DET.. thought it was king of the hill.. till I drove a very mild RB25DET and it blew my mind like a girl with succulent lips. -
Bought My First Turbo Car
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to BatmanBarrie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sell and buy a GT-R **edit: I realised that was a smart arse comment, however a sensible option is to sell it.. when you start pumping in $$$ into a RB20DET you start to realise it's a lost cause...I speak from experience. -
I've never used a Link/ViPec so I can't comment I've used, tuned nistune/haltech/adaptronic/powerfc But Lithium swears by them and I trust his judgement.

Just get adaptronic or haltech done.

Intercooler Piping Kits?
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to MathewZ's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just get the Plazmaman kit.. done -
If you're not tuning, setting up the car yourself you won't even notice anything from the list above. I believe they're around $1500 + delivery - but if you go through HyperGear or DVS JEZ they can/will do a better price than RRP.

I'll list out a few cons however I still use it because of the value. software is ugly, doesn't scale properly on a standard non full HD screen doesn't have AFR/knock/injection duty/etc overlays vs. load points USB port is flimsy, I snapped mine off had to resolder it back on not full sequential, on a 6 cylinder it runs as semi sequential injections/semi batch firing (pairing 2 at a time) once in a while it decides to write erroneous values to your ignition table base maps are horrible, you really need to spend time on it to get it to idle, drive normally however, once you sort out those small idiosyncrasies it works like any other ECU and the support is from the man himself unlike bigger brands they would just brush you off. Andy replies to e-mails at any hour of the day and weekends when he has the chance.. so thumbs up there!

If you're just running E85 all day, making 350kW for the track.. a cheapy Adaptronic would fit the bill... Does everything from closed loop ignition (retard timing on knock) to full closed loop fuel correction using a wideband O2.. even has support for flex sensors/launch control/anti lag Not to mention it's local/cheap/good support.. just the software looks ugly as my butt but if you know what you're doing it's a piece of piss
-
question is, do you actually need all the features that a Link G4 OR ViPec OR Haltech has to offer? something like a cheapie Adaptronic Select would do the trick for most of your needs.

Call up NPC and speak to Doug, OR alternatively, call Scott at Western Clutch at St Mary's and ask if he can sort you out. He uses the same pressure plates as Doug uses in his NPC clutch kits but sets the clamp only at ~1700kgs so the car is more driveable where as Doug goes for the moon. Scott tested mine and it was over 1900kg of clamping force making the car a bucket of shit to drive and he reconfigured it to around 1700kg.. the car drives like a Yaris now after he curved my new clutch disc.
