Your driving skills are truely a work of art Jack, watched each clip at least twice, simply awesome. Would love to one day have the pleasure in coming for a passenger lap.

Jack, I cant get over how smooth you are and how balanced your car is. If someone can host my footage you will understand why im so envious of your cars grip and balance

Heres one lap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5UKmI5OQDE

I'll upload more of it in better quality if someone will give me somewhere to host it.

The lap before that was the 1:52 dead. On that lap you can see at MG how it got away from me under brakes and through Southern Loop the rear lost grip when i tried to hold a bit more corner speed.

The tyres had just lost that little bit of rear end grip but it was still looking good for a 1:51 i but i panicked wheh i farked up at MG by rowing back to 2nd cause i lost all my corner speed. Ended up being a 1:52.4 >_<

I was just worried that was my last lap becsause of noise so...oh well next time

Al - cheers mate, lets just say its an easy car to drive!!! You can come in a passenger lap anytime...

Roy - looking at your footage your definetly busy behind the wheel, obviously there is a small issue with stability, but nothing a little countersteer and throttle can't fix!!! Awesome driving I must say, you control it well and the times show it...

Love the slide around 3 - you looked pretty calm with the arse out at 150+kmh...

I guess that's the difference between my 190kw NA and 280kw with booost! >_<

Nice indecision gear wise at MG too, he he

Your a nutter.

Great vid.

Yeh..i got rattled at MG, i hadnt used 2nd all day...and when i lost the rear on entry and lost all my corner speed i got flustered . As soon as i touched the throttle in 2nd i knew i had farked up..dumb shit :(

Turn 3 is more like 190 as im well into 5th gear >_<

But i cant remember if the thing was always such a bucket of shit mid corner or there is something wrong,. It doesnt feel right and i was having to nurse it where i didnt have the confidence to wrestle it.

LOL..the fist pump was to let Chris know at the Start/Finish that i got the 52! Such a gay thing to do but i was happy :pirate:

Hanging for the PIARC day. I think there is a 50 in it as is just by usign 5th gear at turn 1 and the Hay shed to settle the car down mid corner and not make it so darty/over steery on the throttle.

Watching the video I was going to suggest that to you.

I'm also suprised Jack uses 3rd through Southern Loop. I'd have thought 4th was a better option? What do the other R32/R33 GTR guys use through Southern Loop?

Brisby: "Whoa. Her ass is all over the place"

Snowy: "When the rear end's loose, the car's fast. Loose is fast, and on the edge of outta control"

I used this theory and undid most of the bolts on my car a couple of turns...

Now it just rattles. :pirate:

    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
