hey PJ do you go around rooty hill area?? i think ive seen your car :S not many 370gt's around either lol

Yeah that's me :)

I go the the gym at the RSL and on my days off I like to grab a bite to eat at big chiefs just like my high school days lol

Give me a beep or a wave next time so I know it's you :/

hey nice work guys.

i need some help please, ive got both door trims off and ive done the centre already but i dont know how to get the switch piece out of the passenger door trim. does the handle have to come off the trim alltogether? do i have to break anything?

there are a few screws there..just have a better look mate, the switch will pop out when you take out all the screws. If you have the passenger side trim off the door already, check from underneath ..there are a couple of screws there holding the switch and the plastic surround in place.

Did my gear shift and stereo surround in Powerplus tungsten :)

Good choice I've used powerplus tungsten too, looks tops :bunny: I've done my doors too and just have to do the speedo bezel (took one out of a R34 gtr dash) now as it's slightly different colour (grey/silverish)

Can anyone recommend a cheap trimmer in Sydney ? I want to change my carpets (the moulded carpet not the mats) to black ones as I'm getting creme seat covers installed soon.

Did you clear coat it after your sprayed.. going to attempt this next weekend love the colour, just like the GTR minus the brushed steel look

cool thanks ive managed to get it out now. got all the screws before, was just afraid of breaking it when pulling it out :)

im doing my centre and doors in powerplus kashmir pearl.

looks really nice. its a silvery gold will try and post pics tomorrow when im done

Do NOT clear coat it .. looks like ass IMHO. Just do 3-4 coats of the colour you want and do very light coats each time and allow 10-20 mins drying time inbetween if using the powerplus paints and then let it all dry overnight after final coat.

Dan that's exactly what it looks like .. silver/grey with a tiny bit of gold in it. I experimented with 2 different colours before it (matt black and silver) and they looked nowhere as nice.

Where can you get the thin sticky felt from to replace the old stuff?

There is some very small creaking from plastic to plastic contact ........

Has anyone found the same exact stuff it is is a matter of adapting something else?

mine came off completely with the paint due to the metho and I haven't noticed any creaking .. I suppose you could just improvise, buy some material, cut it into stripes and glue it on. I doubt you'd find a direct replacement anywhere ie. same width etc.

ok these pics are total shite. its dark and im in my garage cos its pissing outside.

ok this color isnt anything close to being white. its a real nice silver\gold and is almost identical color to the gear buttons on the steering wheel.

Hey Delta Force, you have redone your interior trim a few times you said, i have done mine all in Tungsten as well, love the color on it, but i want to re-spray the vents above the ac controls because i think that turned out a little shitty (uneven spray), how did you go about re-spraying it? sand paper? if so what grit etc...?

cheers

Did mine quite awhile ago, unfortunetly I have the premium addition setup so there are a few gaps here and there... but here it is, was done in almost a silver blue colour for something a bit different.

Not a great photo but you get the idea. Just need to get the standard AC controls and surround and repeat the process and it will look alot cleaner.

Just remove the part, dump into metho and take off paint with scourer and start from scratch for the best results IMO ... spray lightly but do 3 coats and she'll be right

ah so the metho will get rid of the paint, i thought it might have only worked on the shitty standard stuff, will have to give it a go.

cheers bud

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
