Hey guys,

So often there's threads with bad/horror stories about workshops, such as "overcharged me, part failed, bad service" etc

Im glad that CANT be said about Yavuz, Mark and Tyson at Unigroup.

This is the second time he's tuned my GTR and from both experiences I can tell you he and his team are one of, if not, the most professional and friendly places in our local modified car industry. Im not easily impressed by workshops, but Unigroup impresses time after time.

Yes there's usually a line of cars parked outside waiting and a list to even get your car there, but that just goes to show how popular Unigroup is, and they're popular for a reason.

After teething problems and a 2 day delay from an Automotive Services workshop at Silverwater, Yavuz finished tuning up to the point where a 4" exhaust is needed.

I would highly recommend Yavuz, as would many others, to tune your pride and joy or even just do general servicing. Please note i have not been paid to say this, I genuinely believe he's the best tuner in Sydney.

My result;

HKS GTRS's

RB2630

Stock head but Tomei 270's

Autronic SM4

ID2000cc injectors

Dyno24310002Readable-1.jpg

Id also like to thank some people who have helped lately;

-Greg and the guys at Autosport

-Trent at Mercury Motorsport

-Nathan at 02Autosports (for having someone to beat)

-Tony for all the lifts, LOWMOUNTS!!!

-Anna for the drives of her car whenever the power bug got too bad to continue waiting

-Dave for the help with the Autronic

...im sure there's more, im sorry if i missed anyone

Cheers

Good work mate, nice results so far, and yes, UNIGROUP are one of the few honest shops around, My car is making about the same KW as before (260ish) but its using 20% less fuel and getting up the boost quicker and cleaner.

NEED TO SEE THIS AT A RACE TRACK......should be LOL trying to get traction.

And yes, super happy fun slide jealous.

went for a brief ride around the 'burbs in this earlier tonight, and it's a real head-kicker of a mutha

so much mid-range torque; the rear tyres cry freedom as soon as the engine gets a sniff of boost. impressive acceleration though even with wheelspin in 3rd. will pull a stack of g's once the attessa is back in action

God save the queen, but nothing can save those rear tyres...

Steve... Can I borrow your fuel system... Now I want to know what mine will make when I put more boost in... And revs... LOL

Power Curve of yours is very much like how mine climbs up, same revs etc... But just one big single huffer! :D:(

Awesome work Steveo!

congrats mate.

and another + for Unigroup. when i was shopping for workshops to fix my dead engine another shop fcuked, Unigroup were straight to the point, well informed and very well priced for what has to be done.

I can feel some more mods coming on or i'll never hear the end of it. :O

On a more serious note, its great to see it finally going and i hope you go out and get lots of use out of it, congrats.

Yeah...30 bottom end and a big huffer on there :)

Cheers

Well put. Cheers big ears!

Super Lap 2012 ?

Dont think so, spectating for me :)

Gee Kyle Bay. There is a blast from the past!!!!.

You live around here?

Has your N1 landed yet?

Come to a cruise, would be good to meet you!

Pretty impressive, the torque would be the thing that would make it something to drive. What sort of gearbox have you got behind it?

Exactly mate the torque is just stupid. Stock box, OSGiken triple plate clutch, modified shifter.

Id like the box to last while I decide what to do with the spare one before doing the swap

LOL 400kw @ 5250rpm...... that thing would be freaking insane dude, Good work and Gratz!!

Cheers!

It seems anyone who knows their sh!t is going on and on about these injectors - go get a set....and then the fuel pumps.......twin entry rail......remote mount reg.......surge tank......etc

Hahaha yeah right single.....have you overdosed on V's? lol

Im suprised you didnt hear it about 15mins ago.....the fine residents of kyle bay sure did :(

Down Terry St...

Thanks,

Yours Truly, hehe

I'm currently getting Yavuz to fit an extended sump to my GTR. After visiting most Skyline specialists in Sydney, he has no doubt been the most helpful and realistic with my budget and expectations. Can't wait to get it back out on the track after he's finished.

Oh and 546 represent Yo!

Nah mine hasn't been dropped off yet, still waiting for the sump to get fabricated. It's a gunmetal grey 32 around Carss Park, but it's off the road now as it's getting the race car treatment :P

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
