Don't the VZ Commos have the 3.8L engine? The BMW 330i for sure has 170kW from factory.

LOL, no they don't run a 3.8L.

They run a 3.6 Alloytec, and a multitude of gearboxes which alter the performance.

If we're getting into this one, on a good run, the Honda Jazz will out do certain Alloytec V6 Commos to 80KM/H... The real test is that it will be beaten by the commo on the 1/4 mile.

I've seen many 300 and 400RWKW cars get munched in a traffic light GP, purely because they're a pig to get off the mark, but once above 100KM/H they really mumbo. The 0-100KM/H is HUGELY dependent on the launch...

just to add the RALLIART magna is the fastest non turbo 6 cylinder (quickest car legal under Restrictions)

3.5 L V6

180 KW

0-100 - 6.8 sec

1/4 Mile - 14.7 sec

apparently they could even beat the VT SS and AU XR8.

the VrX Magna also had a 3.5 L V6 which produced 155 KW

so my argument is that the Fastest cars out there for P Platers are sports sedans. EG. Magna, XR6, SS.

Make your choice if you want your car too look cool (imports like, NA supras, skyline, Mr2, 300ZX, impreza etc.all which have reasonable performance) or have the fastest car possible

i'm a responsible driver, others just fly past me on a 60 road and i'm like, "calm down buddy far out...." (99% of the time)

PLUS -> i've never ever got a fine, speeding ticket, parking ticket, red camera or any road related offence in my almost 2 years of driving, that's how responsible i am...

a turbo skyline/supra will endevour to pop your police encounter cherry, they too have some sort of dark evil magic inside them :D

S2000/Integra Type R are both faster than a Magna and still legal under P plate laws.

No one said anything about price, this guy said that the magna is faster....which is bullshit.

How many 17yo kids do you know who could afford the S2000...also not much faster in a straight line to the magma or a 4L falcon etc...and tahst all 17yo kids car about.

He said quickest 6cyl I believe...?

S2k, ITR's are 4cyl.

Anyway, along with s2k's and itr's, also ep3r's, golf r32's and n/a supras are pretty quick, 0-100. Those would be my picks if that was the goal.

Although I can kind of see where the OP is coming from (imagining the R34 would be quicker); it's not really, such is how it is.

It's still a nice car imo; but you won't be the quickest mofo on the road, lols. Reasonable performance and nice looks imo (:

'93 stock NA Supra will do 0-100 anywhere between 6.2 (independently tested) and 6.7secs (factory claimed) according to various sources. nyaanyaa.gif

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
