In other news:

Police shoot at hoons in Southeast

http://www.heraldsun...b-1226576662880

I can't f*kn believe that, reminds me of Dredd, proven guilty on the spot and shot. God forbid there were children in the car, or a pedestrian walking nearby in the crossfire. Take those stupid handguns of those stupid traffic cops forchristsake.

In other news, the 2.4L 800hp Manly stroker kit arrived for my Evo build. :)

That hoon article probably had some form of information trapped inside the horrendus grammar but honestly I couldn't lower myself enough to absorb any of it.

How the hell does someone get a job at a major newspaper (I realise it's the H.S.) and not be able to string a decent, coherent sentance together?

"police went to Frankston Gardens Drive - police attended perhaps?

"sped towards a officer after - sure they didn't speed towards an officer?

"The officer then fired two shots and the hoons fled the scene before dumping the vehicle." - wut? this just doens't work at all

"Chief Commissioner Ken Lay says it's at least the" - grrrrrrr

"It's believed no one was injured." - Not only is that a sentance, it's an entire f**king paragraph! starting with fkn IT'S

"VICTORIA'S police chief says he's worried about how often his officers are shooting at fleeing drivers after a policeman shot at a car in suburban Melbourne overnight. " - whynotmakethatonewordwhileyouareatit?

"The force's professional standards unit is involved in the investigation because a firearm was discharged." - sigh

Seaford’s Ben Critchlow, who lives about 3km away from the incident, said he’d been living there for seven years but didn’t hear anything last night except the police helicopter.

‘’Before Peninsula Link went up I could hear weekly hoons," he said. "Since the sound barriers have been installed I haven’t heard a thing. I do know it’s been getting worse,’’ Mr Critchlow said.

"It’s been happening every Tuesday night for the past four weeks. We come into work on a Wednesday morning and the streets are covered in fresh marks," Mr Lindley said.

"We don’t see or hear anything, it’s all over by the time we get to work."

so, what's the problem then?

The only thing we shoot at sw meets are fake wheel owners.

I remember when I was shot.

Srsly though, one of the dudes lost a wheel... Not because of fitment, because wheel wasn't on properly

oo that reminds me. streeter sent me a GTR brake reco kit a few weeks ago... wheeeee. where's that tracking number?

They'd be a local community paper journo whose article was deemed worthy of republishing in the HS. Herald Sun gets most of it's localised stories from all the Leader papers.

why wheel fall off? because stanceworks.

also, what fakies were you rockin?

inb4 cops become the biggest killer on the road, taking the top spot from pod filters.

Cannot believe they refer to them as the high risk drivers, posing a threat to themselves and the public. I'm not a fat of burnout faggotry but that's a delusional lie. When was the last death that occurred from burnouts in an industrial area? About 8 years ago, wasn't it? And the last death from a daily driving accident? Last week?

This is a good point...imagine if the cop had hit a passenger...would he get life in jail or would they find a way to pin it on the driver?

It's good that Ken Lay is telling off the cops, but it doesn't sound like much of a serious issue to him? They're firIng a f**king gun!

What went wrong?

Looks like alternator called it a day. Battery so flat couldn't even use hazards haha.

A nice tradie helped me push it out of the way after awhile though. I was in work uniform which is too obvious, very embarrassing. XD.

Mate happened to drive by, so we tried but couldn't jump start in the end… luckily close to home so my dad came down, and we chucked his battery in so I could get my car home lol. Then back to put it back :P. Had to mangle the ends to make it fit the terminals of dad's battery too.

Yay lyf. Oh well at least fix shouldn't be any dramas.

But they should still proof read them yes?

Or have they just given in and realised that their reader base will msot probably not notice

Who's building it? Gonna use burnzy or someone else??

On the topic of police shooting. I'm pretty sure if the bullet hit the guy, the car wasn't going to stop. In effect, 2 people would've died. One of which would probably deserve it, for trying to kill someone over a "hooning offense"

Haha cos shooting bullets at something that's at least 1.5 tonnes hurtling at you will stop it. Hope he aimed at the driver, cos shooting tyres at an oncoming car is almost impossible.

not at a stanceworks meet

almost exactly what i was going to say

    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
