ahah i used to go to le mans automotive in templestowe

damn okay half would be a big difference!

might check them out :P

was originally going to see if trent could do the tune

ty

Anything is cheaper then Le Mans... As you and I would know! LOL!

Shane still knows what he's doing.

But if you're paying Le Mans prices, you'd go Racepace as they have the higher level of knowledge for your car specific...

Racepace charge accordingly and not as much as people talk it up to be.

im more after a place which can do everything at once - tune + 100k service + install parts

racepace did an awesome job last time i took it there and is much cheaper than another place ive been to a few times, also their previous quotes were pretty low from what i remember..

anywhere you would recommend?

RacePace were cheap when I had then install a bunch of stuff; that's from a GTS-T owner who didn't want to overcapitalise on the car; don't be afraid to ask for a quote. And dat reputation...not that others are necessarily going to stuff up a job, but you /know/ RacePace are going to do it propery without any hassles/issues. Not every GTR owner is cashed up and there's a reason people drag their cars from the west to get work done there.

SHEES! where dod you used to have it serviced? Nissan Australia? :P

GT hyper and the Trent to tune...

their quote for my engine conversion was HALF that of racepace... HALF... I have been going there religiously since

GT Hyper are ok

But I wouldn't go back there

Even if the owner did come to my wedding :/

Everyone has a different experience. I know Trent recommends them

I came to your wedding...does that make me the owner?

You could be

i got drunk at your wedding toby.

and by gt hyper, you mean sv?

Jah mun

You should get drunk again

yeah, even racepace and CRD etc etc have horror stories... this will always be the case with workshops.

This is true

would still be cheaper going racepace - that i know!

I emailed racepace yesterday morning, but havent got a reply as of yet, so thats originally why i wanted to check their email address..

well that's exactly what i like about them, they did a great job last time and know exactly what they are doing.

and less of a hassle for me to get to than a lot of other workshops.

and yeah lol, this is definitely the case!

I would love to go!

Yeah, he's a funny guy!

Yeah that email address is still the correct one.

Best call Racepace between 8:30am - 9am or after 5:30pm.

I don't find Racepace prices to be as expensive as some people say, sure some things are expensive but their work is of very high quality. Iv been their customer for years since Ben owned it and Chris has been nothing but awesome since taking over, always helpful and have taken care of anything I ever needed. Iv had nothing but good experiences and their knowledge of GTR's and Nissan's in general is amazing. I'm far from cashed up but I wouldn't trust anyone and wouldn't take my car anywhere else. I'm sure there's other workshops that do great work too but for me it's Racepace. Iv had a few interesting experience with a few other workshops.

Haven't heard/seen any horror stories from RacePace?

as previously stated... all shops have horror stories from ultra tune to racepace.

cant say anything on here though... ash will throwdown the banstick :P

racepace are fkn great... we all know that, but they are expensive... and that was the only point made as the car in question has a LOT of stuff to be done

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
