(Free) Micolour respray is enough brand whoring for me Pat

2 pak is pretty tuff...prolly doesnt need it anyway...as long as you wash it correctly , just throw a liquid wax on it every couple months and don't scuff the paint by over washing it with brushes it will hold its shine for ages...

SAU brand whores represent....

you cant detail a fresh spray job anyway, Paint needs time to breathe out solvents..

unless you mean book in now because there is a 6 month waiting list ,as thats when it will be ready for detailing..

Wheres Tony....he got his car done yet?

oh yeah, dem nismo clutches

Yeah at no stage was I planning to have it detailed.. Brand new headlights will distract the punters from any imperfections in the paint anyhow

paint detailing is what you do when you want to sell your ratty old car, or when you aquire an old car cheap that neeeds a clean up, or when your car just needs some TLC..

new paint job pretty much voids the need for any of that...I'd rather fix an old paint job than repaint though if possible...resprays always have f**k ups unless you pay top dorra....even then you're not guarenteed :ermm:...

but yeah, if you cant paint it shiney enough or put fancy wheels on it the average punter wont notice...I will though

Factory paint generally can do with a good correction - my HSV is not great from the factory by any means of the word. Never seen a factory skyline any better nor lots of other manufacturers for that matter.

Some paint jobs as part of resto's actually are not meant to be 100% perfect either, car's weren't originally afterall.

And whilst sometimes you can get imperfection, any decent panel beater will fix it for free so that's a guarantee in itself.

But yeah, fix the existing if possible, it's amazing what can be done. I've seen Micolour do some pretty amazing stuff... Actually Waxit in Tulla (wholesaler for products) are also a good place to visit... Good idea for another tech day actually, i missed the last one couple years back, but those that went said it was pretty good.

Yep even cars like Ferrari's and Lamborghini's can do with a detail from the factory. Larry from Ammo NYC posts up detailing jobs all the time with these cars, as even brand new they have imperfections:

yesh i went...been polishing cars ever since :D

though in saying that I have 2 cressidas here...one is original paint polished near perfection as I could get it and one is in the process of full 2k respray.. TBH the respray does look alot more amazing than the paint on my original one....its just deeper, shinier and sexier overall...and thats where a respray wins out...

plans are to drive it on the weekend, got the BA wagon for daily crap box

its got a few mods so a bit worried about rwc as its come from nsw

hopefully its ok

inb4 evo daily

unless you leave it parked at a station or something

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
