I find it a little scary that your life can be messed with, for better or worse, simply because of what a computer screen displays...with very difficult or non-existent avenues for getting it changed. It's not corruption proof, but it's fairly repeal proof.

Reminds me of that movie The Net.

GTR registered

No RWC required

:)

Guy did have a weird look on his face when he walked out to see it on Jack's tow truck. Also saw Russell there coincidentally.

Noice!

stick it to the man, man.

saw a strange car on the road today. an older man, driving a de-badge toyota or some sort... i suspect a AE95 JDM sedan. Stock everything except a towel across the back seats. It was beyond pristine. the rear mud guards were like brand new, the paint put most show'n'shiners to shame. the chrome on the (stock?) dual exhausts looked fresh.

Did someone really do a full restoration on what im pretty sure was a late-80's corolla?

Had classic (not historic) white text on black numberplates. the old skool ones before green.

haha did you pull up in the inspection bay with the car on the tow truck? Did they need to check VIN etc?

Yep

I said it has a bad engine knock and I'm taking it to my mechanic before driving it on the road, which is true. He just confirmed the chassis and engine numbers (spent ages trying to read the RB26 engine number, lulz were had), then we swapped the numberplates over and nek minut registered.

We have customers who get the works done on their cars, spend big money on it, THEN go to vicroads to get it registered... Very ballsy!!

Where's your car off to now?

You guys if Chris can give me a date to bring it down - can you go ask him now lol?

haha, lowered it off the tow truck or he climbed up?

Took it off and drove into inspection bay to show that it can be driven, albeit very loudly. Many looks from people before we took it off and even more looks when we started it up lol

Ain't at work today, am debating whether or not to go to the doctors in an hour that's how much I don't want to move :\

you young people have no apprication of hard work, when I was your age I hade to hop to work in the snow as I could only afford 1 sock per year.

then work 20 hours for 1$ a day (thus the saying of another day another dollar) b4 starting my second job as a moving target for the police force.

and I never called in sick.

amidoingitright?

almost.

Better than being trapped inside...

Must take a look at mine as well... keeps getting stuck halfway down... the bolt that tightens onto the motor shaft keeps working itself free and slipping. Time for some locktight me thinks

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
