I can't see the video of this laying 11's up the street, can you upload again please.

All in good time, been away on holidays.

And then?

Took it out this evening up and down beach rd doing hectic flutters like a mad P plater, pissing off all the Karen's from Brighton types. Up to around 550km now and have been getting into it a bit.

On my way home, was turning into my street, there was a couple young bogans in their commos sitting at a red light staring at the 33. Gave it a good clutch kick in 2nd and had it sliding down the street, bogans where frothing at the mouth. Felt fuggin good. Went back a few minutes later to check my work, can confirm 11's where laid. Sorry no video, working on it.

A bit earlier went through one of those mobile phone/seatbelt camera things. I may have been over the speed limit a bit. Anyone know if those f**kers can dish out speeding fines too?

Edit, these type of cameras

No Speeding fines just phone fine and seat belt warnings for now (that’s in nsw)

From the little googling I've done, seems to be the same here in Vic but you never know if they've sneakily added capability for you know revenue, I mean road safety purposes.

We'll see if I get a notice in the mail over the next few weeks. I think I should be right.

Forgot to mention, chopped a couple gai boys in a Golf R and GTI in my travels yesterday.

These Zestino drift tyres seem to give really good straight line traction. Can almost put all the power down in 2nd gear which is really good. Hot or cold doesn't seem to matter.

Looks like all the hard work paid off, when is the Turbosmart 6262 turbo coming?

Stock pistons brah, not happening. Lol. The most I'd probably go is hypergear hf bb upgrade in an op6 housing and only if the current snail shits itself. Will probably give another 10-15rwkw. My injectors are already just about maxed but could possibly handle the above.

Other option would be like a 3076 or modern equivalent and keep power at 330rwkw or whatever the injectors will allow. Again only if I find myself needing to repair current turbo.

Trying to make grown up, sound financial decisions.

Nothing much has really been going on with this. It's been a case of no news is good news. The 1000km milestone has been reached and all is well thus far.

Time to change to synthetic oil and send it's mum. Actually before I do any sending, I want to verify the timing. My timing light shit itself so waiting for new one in the mail, will get done once it arrives.

Nice mate, any track days you're looking forward to?

Not ATM. The bug hasn't bitten yet.

Just happy to cruise around in it for now. I'm looking at making it more family friendly by putting a cat back in it, try to quieten it a bit, possibly better less crashy suspension and add child seat. Hopefully then will be able to use it for some Sunday drives with the family and get more usage out of it.

If you need the mounting/restraint points, get them here, they're based in VIC too.

1/2 the price of what wreckers or the numpties on Facebook want to them, not to mention it's brand new.

I've got some of those somewhere, I remember removing them years ago but if I can't find them (likely) I'll grab some of those. Thanks for the lead👍

Haven't done much with this, other than drive once a fortnight. I did drive it every day last week as it was the end of the club reg year and there was plenty of available days left over. Felt good actually using it and giving it a bit of a thrash.

I did confirm the timing a while back, was just under 16° retarded it back to just under 15°. Clocked up around 2500km now. It's been running on the good ol Castrol edge 10w-60. Should probably change it soon as I've not done many long trips and there's probably a fair bit of e85 dilution happening.

In other news got my 'rare' light up garnish working again. Was just a questionable crimp on 1 of the wires. Wire was barely hanging on to the terminal and fell off when I knocked it recently. Re crimped it and it's lighting up like a champ again.

Don't question it, just do a used oil analysis.

All covered here - https://tinyurl.com/usedoilanalysis

If you do a search on the page for komatsu you'll also see the results/discussion about it etc.

Might just do that. Be good to get a baseline and see how the new bearings are wearing.

I probably should do a compression test, to see if my honing skills where up to the task or maybe it's better if I don't know, lol.

Don't compression test. If it's running fine, don't look for problems, just enjoy!

This.... If it feels slow, just add more boost and pull out timing.

Or add timing until it sounds a bit rattly, then pull timing... Really quickly! :P

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
