Hopefully the 4.5G and 5G jabs will open up the country. I've had my 4.5G already, 5G this  Saturday 🥳

You mean poor life choices? LOL... all this money could be better spent on a M3

Anyone want to swap their BMW F30 340 LCI M-sport

Not interested in a swap, but there is an F30 335i Activehybrid in my family that may be on the market soon. It has some performance mods.....

Cheers mate! But the car of choice will need to be the 340i as it has the B58 💦💦💦

It never ends. I got the skyline into the 1:09's but there was a lot more in it... Got some new tyres and then lockdown. Trust me no matter how fast you go, you always want to be that 1 second faster!

Wen I first started racing it took me a year to get my RX8 around our Hill climb course quicker than an old man in a diesel golf... Like anything just takes practice

Also those Evos are so easy to drive, took my mates out, only was able to do 2 laps and got a 1:08, took no effort they literally make you're driving look good.

At least the skyline makes you work for it.... Maybe?

They sure do, I hopped into my mate's S15 making 100kW less and ended up with my own PB of 1m7s.

Best I've ever gotten in my car has been 1m8.9s (pretty much 1m9s). The car has done low 1m8s with my other mate driving it.

Then you see fellas in M2s with not much track experience, bog stock cars running AD08R tyres and cleaning it up on the track!

Just an update, intake and exhaust side all hooked up.

Nearing boogie time 😀

It's a strange feeling paying someone to build your car, first time ever.

Tuning will still be done by me, Alex said he's more than happy for me to tune it but just asks that I do a few certain things for him to still provide warranty on the motor. I suspect one would be taking it easy mid range with the timing as I'm running standard sized gudgeon pins.

Let's hope this time round this motor stays together 🚤🚤🚤

Nice one Johnny ! Are you going to run with a proper crank trigger this time ?

For now, just the NZ Wiring cam trigger kit.

At some stage I "might" upgrade however the build costs have ballooned exponentially lol... so much for a budget track car 😂

I feel your pain mate. Pray to the gearbox gods or you think it'll hold ?

Street use I suspect it will hold up, as soon as I step foot onto the grounds of Wakefield Park and attempt my 1st hot lap I might witness the box explode to bits 😂

Great progress my man, loving it.

You already know I'm all about silver on black wheels and I'll be doing the Silvia that way because it's my jam, but what colour was this again? I have a feeling it was a mercedes colour or something?

I like KAD from the R35 or WV2 from the R34 like mine was.

Mercedes Moey Don't Worry Silver 😂

It's called Selenite Grey

@niZmO_Man Z looks pretty good, minus the rear end and the fact it's only a 2 seater.

Update time, looks like we might start it soon. Next is Fab work, will be redoing the hotside again (not happy with it) and doing the cold side. Hopefully it can still route through the pre-cut hole from the old set up and I can still retain my washer bottle.

Same with the a90, love the rear, face needs work.

100% the front end looks like a dropped egg.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
