Me: "I just dropped my car at the shop"

Wife calls work secretary: "That asshole is modifying his car again, got any work  happening in Siberia?

Work: "Cool, pack your bags, you leave tomorrow"

This is my guess... enjoy your trip this week haha ?

did you tell them it is pretty important to get it done quick cos plenty of people on the internet are waiting for turbo noises and skids?  that should speed them up

LOL your work sounds fun!

8psi will make annoying noises if you don't run a BOV and metres of FMIC pipe work :)

Might be a job for a coke can blocking plate gasket, Yo

I'm more looking forward to the first time the Mrs hears it, she is going to be well pissed off......her reaction should be pretty funny.

I will just explain that it needed the turbo to quiten down cold start.

That reaction should be pretty sweet as well.

God bless her, and may god have mercy on my soul.

When is it ready? I'll take you on with the Tiguan.

It just had both front wheel bearings removed, serviced and re-installed on a 1 year old car with 15k kms lol.

Surprised it didn't throw a CEL and disabled the car :P

Are you still going to tow that trailer up Macquarie Pass, wasn't that one of the rules?

When is it ready?, I'm hoping tomorrow, my boat (real boat/ship, not a R33) leaves on the 13th of this month, this means I will most likely be on a plane on Monday, that gives me the weekend to race a Tiguan towing a trailer up the pass, break the gearbox, and throw a rod, oh, and pack.

It looks like I'm going to have a busy weekend

We should all catch up for a cruise in our non-Skylines LOL

I'm spewing I'm going to miss the SAUNSW cruise up Macquarie Pass to Roberstson pie shop.

Although, I do head up there at least once a month for a drive topped with pies, apple turnovers with cream to be then washed down with icecream at Wollongong lighthouse after doing the Jamberoo run.

Mmmmmmm, pies cakes and icecream....

WOW, what a difference

Dyno is saved file from pre-tune in March to 8 psi boost now, WOW

Car is as responsive as farrrrk, pulls hard, WOW

Most importantly is that cold start is not as loud, the turbo has done its main job at muffling the exhaust..........?

Shiny clamps is the only giveaway

I feel that alot, and I mean all, WRX and STI's cruise around chopping every 86 they see, for fun.

LOL, that has bit them on the arse today, the little 86 is pumping

Not that I went out hunting this morning or anything

I did get punished by a branch falling off a tree infront of me, no time to really do anything but cringe, a few more battle scars but nothing major.

My little 86 is perfect

No more mods needed

Well..........it could do with more .....tutututu

Small turbo kit on a 86 is one of those "enjoy it/great little car" combos. Right up there with a little turbo MX5 at similar power. Sit back, relax, enjoy, and act smug when people who look cool on forums blow up all their money in broken engines.

    • I put another 2 layers of putty and still getting pinholes. Think i might either try the filler first then putty or just leave the little specs of guidecoat as is and get primer to fill it in. I think i misread understood what you said above when you said my glazing putty wasnt enough for the size of the area. I thought you meant 1 coat and i needed to. But i think what you meant was that I needed filler first? I also went a bit too far out the repair area as my spreader is a bit large.
    • You do sorta. In my instance they were little specs and I didn't even think they'd be pin holes but it all makes sense now. Huge learnings there!
    • Ah ok that makes sense and it's where i think i went wrong because before when i put filler then putty, i didn't have this issue and now i do because i only put 1 coat of putty. Thanks for that heaps man, it's a good way to put it! With my putty I'm using the dolphin glaze which i just saw it says finishing putty lol. I didnt put filler cause it was a shallow area but i see what you're saying. Also I'm an idiot, i just realised that while i put new putty there are pinholes! I probably saw it before and ignored it for whatever reason. I think because i thought putty is used to fill pin holes that itself wont make pinholes but that's incorrect of course. I feel silly now haha. ok I think I know what to do next. Thanks man!
    • Yes correct, the guide coat is showing low spots, in this instance the low spots are pin holes. I agree wetting the areas makes it more visible (but you can see it's there before you wet it as well lol).  Once the panel is flat, the guide coat will be gone
    • I wouldn't do it outside, the contamination landing in the paint, the wind and a million other things will drive you crazy.     That's a way too big of an area to use your single stage putty on.  Pretend it's all filler and those pin holes appeared, you'd then use the putty on those pin holes.  They are still pin holes, hmm I expect a few coats of high fill primer could deal with those.
