How much are you paying for CTP Greenslip

Recommended Posts

I'm about to get some quotes for my 180.. last time I checked, I f**ked with every variable on the online quote app

I could be 30 and a bunch of accidents in my history, with like 1 demerit point left before suspension and the price was in the 600s.

But age 29 with perfect fkn record (which I somehow have) and its nearly $900

f**ks sake.

The writing has been on the wall since...

* insurance companies could collude with one another

* fake accidents in SW Sydney have led to fake injuries

* doctors 'in the know' don't 'rat' on their own kind

Compared to other states, NSW is the pits.

Not if your residence in Melb. But technically you can't have another state plate for more than 90days in nsw. As long as you make a trip to vic and back. Once in the 90 days and have a residential address in Vic. You should be fine. If it's in your sis name. All good.

I've been wanting these custom plates since I was a kid.... but I just can't justify giving the rta 440 a year.... it's not that I don't have the money.... just don't like being robbed.... fair enough if the money went to the right places etc and we had nice roads that don't ruin our cars etc...

agree, talked to some of the QLD blokes, they can also own the plates..they were complaining the highest cost plates were 5k.

I relayed ours were 440 a year, so if owned for any more than 20 years, would already be over 5k.

Yes it was; and you're dead right.

They hope you're a complete imbecile and will just pony up the cash.

We got it sorted; but there's been a big jump in price in the last month or so.

QBE were cheapest with $593; which is a tonne better than NRMA's $756

I went with QBE this year, it was the best I could find at the time :)

    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
