  1. And keep it stock looking without too much attention-seeking exteriors. If you get the drift.
  2. Yep, will require an Engineer’s Certificate and pass roadworthy and they pick on everything from new brakes due to power increase, re-tuning and you might have to pass some power and epa emissions testing.
  3. Looks good mate. You can even drop it a little more as the gap is quite noticeable or leave as is.
  4. Hi mate, sounds frustrating. i would check the following: - Alternator - Coil packs / spark plugs - Hosing to air intake and engine - Turbo gasket - Fuses - Damaged or disconnected sensors which the ECU had picked up Something may have been accidentally disconnected during the alarm/immobiliser install or it might have short circuited something. Or it could have been just coincidental that something has gone by over time. Good luck.
  5. Agreed I suppose it’s more of a “want” but heck the Zilla deserves them.
  6. People say the RB26 looks like a matchbox partially tilted sideways and doesn’t look to powerful compared to larger Ford and Holden engines but there’s something about it that I just adore and love!
  7. Sounds good. You painting at home yourself post up some photos? Wow 20” are huge! What offsets?
  8. Looks 80s 90s and stock brakes. Perhaps ring Nissan and quote part/description numbers on the Calipers all things fail.
  9. Bilstein Ones perhaps? A mate of mine had a set in similar colour will firm up height if I catch up. Look them up and see if specs match.
  10. Thanks for the great tip mate. Is the final place you go to a franchise place if so can I get their name? Might give it another go.
  11. I don’t think it’s the petrol that’s the problem. Suggest you check/clean coil packs and inspect spark plugs might need to replacing.
  12. Agreed that 19” is more for looks to fill guards. Yeah I’m assuming it’s a GTR otherwise won’t work on GTS.
  13. Go 19" if you can and choose: 9x10.5 +15 or + 12. Other sizes will work too. But size above in 18/19 is best IMO. Will fill guards nicely.
  14. You're right mate. I thought about it and felt this would sacrileges to do especially toward a GTR so I ended up going to a local wrecker and buying replacement trims. I guess for a 25 year old car the trims being worn is a given. Thanks for your honest opinion.
  15. What you said is 100% spot on. I just spoke one of my friends who does vinyl wrapping on the side and he said the same. I just came back from a Jap wrecker and bought used replacement trims ended up costing $250 for the pair but you're right better idea as wrapping is probably not an option. Thanks for your reply - helpful as usual!
  16. Hi guys, I just noticed my R33 GTR front door trims are starting to show its age and shows some rips so it's time for me to do something that I've always wanted to try which is to wrap them in carbon fiber. Has anyone done this and how hard was it? Which time of wrap did you use and how long did it take? Also, does the wrap come with adhesive or will have I to spray it with adhesive glue? Any photos would be great!
  17. Yes definitely a possibility but jack the car up and check exhaust piping ang turbo gasket first followed by hoses and blow off valve leakage.
  18. All good mate. Also as some have suggested plug in a cable and run some diagnostics if possible. Could also be the exhaust too check piping.
  19. I know this is a little touchy, but care to elaborate on what happened and did they give you any compensation for crushing your car? A mechanic told me the government are trying to cut down on car parts with similar effects to asbestos such as fibreglass where drilling into them could release cancerous powder. Is all this possible?
  20. That’s strange. Check your turbo casket, bov and intercooler piping might have fallen out during conversation. Good luck mate.
  21. Exact-a-mondo! Seriously, for a R33 GTR I would only do the following visual mods: - Good JDM rims with good offset or the like - Change stock side and front orange dated indicator housing to Nismo N1 clear ones (smoked ones look hideous in my opinion) - Get some nice sideskirts (I like the Nismo N1 ones most) or leave stock is fine too - Replace side GT and front/rear GTR badges if damaged or stolen - Remove all instance of RICE like crazy camber, huge GT wings and stickers except for SAU ? - Add Nismo N1 bonnet lip - Add Nismo N1 rese carbon fibre double wing - Add front canards and rear diffuser optional - Add tint to windows optional AND that’s it for. She’s tough as is just keep her clean and focus on performance mods if any and enjoy! Anything else I missed?
  22. Did you do any other mods with the conversation? If so you may need a retune.
  23. Barra-Zilla? Does have a ring to it but personally I like the RB26DETT more as it has more low end torque she sounds much better too.
  24. I would say your qualifications would be recognised but then you may have to do some additional apprenticeship work to get fully qualified by Australian standards. It also depends on how specialised you will be, e.g will you become a general mechanic or some engine specialist. Good luck with your studies.
  25. Thanks for sharing your story but honestly before buying a used car always do a crash register, registration and finance owning check as a minimum and if you’re savvy you would have given him a small deposit and agreed that the car would be sold subject to a RWC. Although unlikely, speak to the police as they may be able to get your money back as this was a misleading sale which could have resulted in a bodily injury. Also speak to Legal Aid to see if there are any grounds for legal intervention. What a shame.
