Taking off the front prop shaft yet? I wanna see shed skids tomorrow. -
Monitoring Fuel Pressure
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Predator1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I honestly prefer to PWM the pumps instead of staging them, you'll find with staging pumps there's a momentary spike in fuel pressure each time it's activated. Not enough to feel a change, but enough for you to see a spike in rail pressure and also makes it harder to get your transient tits. An elegant way is to PWM both pumps, another way I thought that could be just as elegant is to have one pump on full tilt and the 2nd (or 2nd lot of pumps) running off PWM but with a very low duty and ramp them on based on MAP. No spikes, fuel won't heat up as fast and low load on your electrical system. Just an idea -
R33 Gtr performance issue
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Chrisko33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I don't think it's a fuelling issue, if you look at his AFRs they are more than safe. Also with his power levels on 98RON, there's not a lot of fuel demand. -
This is the one I used https://www.jaycar.com.au/diode-1n5822-schottky-40v-3a-do-27/p/ZR1048

Running at 90% Will start to lower it soon when my laptop is charged and keep dropping it till the fuel pressure starts to drop and raise it by 10%

So looks like it worked a treat, cathode side on the +ve terminal. Also noticed the SSR isn't running as hot anymore, explains why they were all dying after some time. When I got back home after the drive with @PLYNX and my mate, I was actually only running on one pump as I previously had 2x SSRs running side by side but without heatsinks. I decided to convert to a single SSR with a large heatsink for simplicity, and that's when I noticed the issue with my setup. Anyhow, I found this diagram from another brand name SSR and they specify that all inductive loads must be suppressed by a fly back diode.

Make sure you put in a 2.5" restrictor inside too, to make it authentic -
Lololol inshallah, here's some car shit. One reason why not many people (even shops) setup PWM control on fuel pumps is because no-one really understands the theory, me included. So the reason why I kept churning through SSRs was purely due to inductive "fly back". When using a SSR to run any form of inductive load you need some way to suppress the inductive load caused by rapid on/off states of the motor, in this case the fuel pump. Without suppression in place, you'll end up with nasty voltage spikes which can exceed the SSR's load causing the SSR to fail. So after a few hours spent reading up on engineering forums, watching engineering videos I've worked out by installing a basic diode across the inductive load aka fuel pump you'll suppress the voltage spikes and ultimately stop trying SSRs. This means no need for expensive dedicated fuel controllers worth hundreds of dollars. FWIW, all you need is a high current Schottky Diode, they're of better quality than your normal diodes.

Screamer out the 1/4 panel then, less obvious and won't collect water -

That slight misfire could also be CAS related, see if they've got the CAS filter enabled, I find Level 1 ~ 2 works well, but a brand new CAS or a trigger kit (crank, better cam, not as good as crank but better than the CAS) will fix heaps of problems. -
Wow, just watched this video and it really inspired me to finish off the R33 and race the fuarking thing. Something about the Japs, they just send it.

thank fk for 5 year warranty, going to sell the wife's car at 4.5 years and hopefully by then the new Toureg is more affordable, that car makes me horny.
-
@timmy_89 how many CELs have you unlocked so far? lol (also your signature is going mental, it's a HUGE empty white box). I'm up to 2x on a 1.5 year old car with 18k kms Also have had sunroof lighting fixed/recalled, front wheel bearings re-greased/re-assembled, countless coolant top ups - all free of course, because warranty hahaha

Hard man, Euro cars are on a different level. I prefer driving the TIguan SUV (note, it's a huge freaking car for families) more than the R33, that's saying quite a lot! However would never mod a Euro the way I mode JDM cars, nor would I race them because the dash will light up brighter than a Christmas tree.

might be slower actually, 0-100 is 6.5s I can get it into the high 5s with just a reflash, high flow cat, and delete the turbo muffler
-
and it has launch control, AWD, makes fart noises in Sports, chops plenty of cars and not to mention actually handles bloody well... the active dampers makes me horny though, it's so good.

That's it, not to mention she let's me spend stupid amounts of money on a useless shit box that depreciates each time you blink or go to turn on the engine. It consumes money even when it's dormant. (That's why I got her the Tiguan lol, kind of a distraction)
-
Lol trust you to always find the weirdest shit lol Yeah I hope so too haha.. I wanted to spend less but the wifey (with her new found passion after watching a few seasons of the block) wants it to look nicer than it needs to be. Can't argue with her, she does have better taste but I don't want to spend the money. At the end of the day, I prefer the bedroom than the couch or floor.

Entry to the garage because my garage door was open, but the door to the house via the garage was locked. Our garage door roller has been playing up a little where it snags and goes back up when I close it. Probably didn't pay attention last night it was opened all night. Yeah we were both asleep at that time, I generally keep screw drivers around the house in places Easier to explain yourself as you just grabbed a screwdriver you left from installing ikea furniture rather than having a bat there purposely to beat up people.

Tempted but no, just a normal toilet suite, floor to ceiling tiles, new wall mount 1.2m vanity and semi frameless shower. Only reason we are doing this is because the old water proofing is mcforked and we need to rip it all out. So might as well send it, new cooper tray, waterproofing, new tiles and will be putting in all porcelain tiles NOT ceramic junk (which isn't as water resistant). Upside: House will be worth more, wife will be happier with modern bathroom to match out kitchen, laundry Downside: Bye bye ~15k, and we won't enjoy it much - planning to sell the house. And in random news, this dude tried to break into our car. Realised there was a surveillance camera in his face, ran out then went to my neighbour's house and took all of his coins from his car. Once done, he and his mates decided to go to my other neighbour's house and steal his Camry and drive out by ramming the front gate. That didn't go to plan, so they all took off and dumped the car there. If anyone knows him, please tell him to come back and fix our gate, we would be very happy if he did.

who is tuning it? I see a ripple in power, wonder if it's your Attessa doing it OR it's timing scatter from your OEM CAS. -

Been to NZ twice already, great place - but one mofo who walked past us at Ferg Burger and made a snide remark "Oh looks like China is here" (I'm Asian but born here), so I stood up and and said asked politely "what the f did you just say?" and walked towards him. His mates were smart and dragged him away. Other than that, pretty good experiences both times. -

Same reason why I went with Sinco, because it's a true twin scroll manifold not like the 6Boost ones or similar.
