  1. Long story dude...had a friend of a friend mini tub it..car went missing and shit stolen and paint f**ked(it was a new paintjob already) I had all the dodgyness fixed/ retubbed/ 4link/cage fitted and my mate that painted it the first time...has fixed and repainted it for FREE...(instead of another 5G), so i can't complain.. Not like i havn't seen it..lol, my mate lives on a farm and has his workshop and booth there..haha ..Turbos a Gt45 frame , its a discontinued turbo..you havn't been able to get them for 3-4yrs..hence me taking 2 yrs to find one in the U.S. checking google every week..was a headf**k to buy and get here
  2. Cars meant to be back from painters after 2 yrs next month , then can get cracking on fitting this sucker should be a good street turbo..j/k
  3. woudn't you have to put a T67 on a stock manifold to make that judgement? cheers darren
  4. Years ago, my mate fitted a Nissan Terrano turbo to his suzuki cappuccino, went hard on 20+psi with computer/injectors/bigger cooler I have no idea what turbo is on them edit: i did a quick google...loooks like it had a garrett Gt2052 on it..was fun, big ramp onto boost
  5. Good edit Artz..lol cheers darren
  6. T04/66 P-trim..i reckon they even did one with a 1.00, last time i checked they sell them as T04S/T04R with 84mm compressor wheel
  7. I have to get of my ass and start doing my Rb25 soon..be funny after saying that if it makes no power....lol cheers darren
  8. school holidays..
  9. I woudn't take that to heart..lol, but look at how much more info there is out there for newer motors, its like building a oversized model kit most of the time..cars being cars, its not always going to be smooth sailing for some unlucky ones..but thats just cars in general thats why love and hate them at the same time! cheers darren
  10. Id personally go back to the first cam for testing, as to me it takes one thing out of the equation, as in "theory" that one should work fine with that setup. If you do fix the problem and its something else, then you can refit it later and re test it. out of interest, what type of cooler is fitted?, much pressure drop?, and what valve springs? especially with big cam? close to coil bind?, its not getting valve float from boost pressure? The big one is something i would fit if a mate said i want a 2.6 turbo and i want to turn the world on its axis. And even though i am no astron expert i'd spec that with a 116 LSA and a PT6466 with plenty of boost shoved up its ass.....lol This is why i like old motors turboed and like working on them , yes they are a pain in the ass, but f**k me at least you have to think and work some stuff out for yourself, much better satisfaction than buying most newer motors, any idiot can get a good result out of a Rb25 etc..lol cheers darren
  11. higher=less overlap not sure how mnay cams you've changed in sohc motors disco..but that reaks of problems with turbo cam 10+yrs ago..things have changed a lot since then and cam makers have cottoned on what a engine needs a lot better...we aren't getting old blower grinds anymore with large overlap that blow all the energy out the ass end. I think all the problems you mentioned come back to to lsa actually.. I've had people sell me blower grinds that where shocking 10+yrs ago when asking for turbo cams, and yes all those problems existed, but the grinds these days are alot different. Even a basic stage one cam with a 114lsa would outperform a "standard" cam in every way usually, theres more to cams than just duration and lift, the way the cam is designed in regards to the lobe shape has a big effect on drivability, Even going back to sohc cam rb30's, the tighe cams are quick lift cams, they run much more lift and duration than stock..but still make more bottom end and midrange torque than the stock cam and spool a turbo quicker...and make another 30-40rwkw..lol twin cam stuff is a different kettle of fish again, and the designs are much more recent.. personally if i only had the choice of one , i'll take duration over lift any day of the week with a turbo car..providing i can change the LSA cheers darren
  12. I did touch on that re: the 112 LSA...which is unusual, even if the camshaft wasn't the culprit,(id be suprised if it was, only by the fact the other cam should make heaps of power aswell..) and you went bigger on the turbo later id be getting that bigger camshaft reground on a 116LSA definitly cheers darren
  13. It probally would make 200-210..if it was manual ...it has a auto with converter. Be interesting to see what it made with a tighter converter..although thats not going to stop it laying over and playing dead up top...lol But with that ridicilous cam, it should make a heap more..suprised its has a 112 lsa..thought it would be 114+ Be interested to see why they have done that with these motors, not usually the norm with a turbo grind, or even there other grinds RB etc I had a look at some pics of my brothers GCG 3076/3037..the exhaust wheel on his was much smaller than his 3082 should see if he still has the serial for it cheers darren
  14. lol, 257@.50 "should" have peak power up around 8500+ rpm with no other things limiting it... thats a HUGE cam , would be on the largeish side for a 3540 let alone what you run..id leave that for 66mm + territory Even the 230@.50 is a decent cam, i thought it would make peak power a lot higher , whats the serial tag on turbo? i swear it sounds just like my brothers problem..f**king did our heads in.. and it was just the shit turbo gcg made..3076/3037 my asshole...makes less power than hks2530 or 2540..lol I really doubt changing exhaust housings will do f**k all..id be highly suprised if it did! cheers darren
  15. what the duration difference between cams? 210@.50 versus 240/250 ish @.50. If cam timing or anything like that is not wrong, then it does indeed sound like the turbo is maybe to small. generally what happens is turbine flow kills top end even with more cam duration and you just end up effictively making a shorter power band and not increasing top end to much at all, sound like what is happening if you are running that much more duration and only picking up 700rpm top end My brother bought some GCG spec (3037)3076 .63 on his gemini i don't remember the specs but it only did 190rwkw flat out on 98 octane, the T28 flange hks 2540 he had before that made 10rwkw more power. the GCG, spec thing also spooled quicker . He upgraded to a 3082 .82 and picked up a lot more power and it makes more power the more boost we shove in, should go 300rwkw+ on 30psi ATM yours sound like what his did with dodgy GCG spec 3037(3076) Also had problems with high egt's with both those smaller setups, if he tracked the car it would blow headgaskets after lapping for a while on high boost E85 or WMI would have fixed/bandaided that problem whichever way you want to look at it, but he wanted more' power anyway theres a few guys round here with sigmas with 3540 .82's, i think they made 250ish rwkw(manual) on 18-20psi on stock cams, changing cams netted them 300rwkw on 98 octane If you where in S.A id lend you a 3450 .82..lol cheers darren
  16. Well you better start deciding which kit to run now then, if it takes you as long as it did choosing turbos...lol..j/k cheers darren
  17. auto will need shiftkit and a billet second gear servo, that might be enough to get it to hold without a full rebuild, but that would be the bare essentials you would have to do cheers darren
  18. whats it weigh out of interest? , garrett and precision shit weigh 20-22kg ish in that frame size
  19. whats a T62 in garrett speak?..Gt4508?
  20. What do you think of the Precision 7675?, tried any GTX4202's to compare to? cheers darren
  21. Yep and then people will tell you they are about to go..then i will ask 6 months later again..lol
  22. So G3 internal vs T67 internal dyno graphs will be interesting..
  23. water injection mate...wel done anyways. cheers darren
  24. Just wondering 337 pages and i still think theres not one trap speed for a hypergear..anyone going to drag race with one? cheers darren
  25. f**k knows, its just the car to take kids to school ..i put them both in there as i had them sitting around and a "built" RE401RB box is marginal i think once i fit turbo and run 22psi with the weight of the car. I just wanted to take no chances,as heat is the biggest killer of auto boxes . i found one cooler with transbrake and slippery converter wasn't that great in R31, will be having 2 in R31 next time aswell, its quite normal in the U.S, here i only commonly see one fitted. cheers darren
