I don't think cams test many RB20's. The bloke measured it, then turned round and asked "ahhh do you know what the stock stroke is meant to be?" (69.7). Stroke test is just a simple steel tube with a high and low marker. I think the more advanced volume test is done if there is a protest, but i've heard it's not very accurate.

You don't need a RB24 Roy.

Were you down in Bothwell with a big beard Dan?

Hahaha Ben, no that wasn't me...was stuck in Sydney watching on the web :verymad:

I've seen them come up with a stroke of 85mm on an Evo at High Country last year. After a few more tries they got 88 :yes:

The fact that they are checking should be enough to deter most that would otherwise push the boundries of legality. What went on in the past can only be left to the imagination :rolleyes: (testing has only been done in the past two years).

last one for the day, Woodsdale

Awesome bit of driving there Ben! and Damo's calls are spot on (especially the 'get the fark outta the way'). Nice little catch just after passing the first car, did damo shit then?

Damo grabbed for the roll cage just near where the horses are running around. It's the first time in 3 years I've seen him flinch, but it didn't stop him from being on the $$. Pressure was on that stage, and I think we ended up 3rd fastest outright on it.

Stellar bit of driving and navigation. Those shite roads!

Well done guys awesome work and great to see another 32 punching above it's expected division!!

Although everyone here should be following Crest Racecraft thus have already read the link the boys posted up this morning the following words from the "gentleman navigator" deserve to be repeated here, much congratulations!!

Barry Oliver;

Special mention should be made of the early modern competition winners Ben Manion and Damian Roach who not only won Early Modern in their 23-year-old Nissan GTS-t but finished an outstanding fifth in the overall standings only four minutes behind our Porsche. It was the drive of the event.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
