You can all get stuffed. Last night after speaking with Paul I went home and had a hard look atht wheel pricing and figured I wont be hapy until i get them for mine. So once the rebuilt shocks are paid for its time for some 18x10 +35 & 18x9 +25s for my bus. As for you mob with your GTRs...jog on!

Oh ... I just went home and ordered a set of them - they are on their way to me as we speak ... you will no longer be a unique snowflake.

(just joking, getting TE's )

So the engine bay is DONE! Nismo AFM's in, intake re-assembled, air box sticker charged and intake ducting cable tied down.

Also picked up some rebuilt stocky rear brakes in great nic

And pulled out my mad photoshop skills to confirm that in fact yes, as Anthony put it - black TE's will look tits. Particularly when filled with rotor and AP goodness. Borrowed an 18x10 rotor TE copy toying with the idea of grabbing them as a spare set for slicks but still a bit undecided - I don't think my guards are pumped quite enough.

I am chasing some stock front calipers + rotors + pads + lines if anyone knows of any - preferably in Melbourne. Just as a temporary solution, rotors can be at limit and pads almost gone, just no caliper / line leaks.

Bay looks sooooooooooooooo schmick man. Better than brand new!

Did you run new OEM Nissan front and rear window seal kit..........? Pics with no masking tape.....?

Black TE's will set it off!

FYI - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/414449-r32-gtr-intercooler-shroud/

Cheers man! Nah just an aftermarket seal front and rear - it's not perfect at the corners but the urethane seals everything up really well.

Tempting group by is tempting - interested in the OEM wing in carbon..... hmm

Picked up these 18x10.5+15 from Import Monster - off getting stripped and painted matte black for the 34 so 32 will have wheels in a week or so. They will definitely get the obligatory test fit on the 32 once they are ready of course for the stance shot before the sensible sized wheels go on.

  • 2 weeks later...

Wheels back from being painted matte black, the 10.5's actually sit pretty nicely at this ride height. Will get the same treatment done for the 9.5's soon.

Dash chopped to accommodate the cage and gearstick refitted. Have started to fill up some fluids and check over lines etc.

Getting close mate....you must be on edge. Car looks dangerously good, keep photos coming!

Any chance you could post some photos up fo the new front and rear window seals...

Also, did you run new rear quarter windows?

Great build.

That looks awesome. You must be wrapped. Hope the rest goes well!

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
