Yeh, I aint big on maintenance and the thought of alloy nuts worries me so I run good olf fashioned steel nuts as well. Albeit pretty Rays ones :)

I'll one free by then, brisby's GTsT should be rolling again.

What, you have ripped the RB20 out for me :) Keen to take the old girl for a punt around Wakefield when I collect it. Will need to bring two rims up in the plane and get some semis in Sydney somewhere.

about bloody time you got some decent nuts.

wheels are on and off a race car so often, and they are so damn cheap that there is no excuse for difficult to use, unmatched ones. I hope you bought 5 spares for races that need a wheel change.

any other progress on this old girl?

What ever ya whinging bitch and no I only bought 4 spares.

I must say though tiger I have a new appreciation for my pit-crews work at Wakefield.

I had to remove and fix a little problem with my rear shocks,,,what a pain in the f**king-arse. Roll cages,,,seats and rear top shock mounts in R33's don't mix.

Cheers

Neil.

It's been ages since an update,,,Cheryl is now competing in the NSW hillclimb championships and quite frankly she's loads of fun. While I'm not used to running last in my class,,,I'm having a ball and getting quicker all the time.

Here's some pics of her engine oil cooler install.

I'll post some more stuff as i catch up.

Cheers

Looks good Neil and up to your usual standard of being very tidy with the hose work.

I was of the opinion that you were going dry sump - is that still the case or are you just going for a larger volume with baffles like us?

So long as at the end of the day, you've got a smile ear to ear, and some other monkey to change your shocks, then that's all that matters! Right? :P

I'm quite jealous of this car really. Such a basic engine setup, decent suspension and stripped and it just looks so fun out there on the track!!!

Thanks Charles,,,it turned out very nice,,,yep I will be dry sumping Cheryl sometime,,,just not now. The old race budget has been taking a hammering lately so most stuff including tarmac rallys are on hold. The bloody Falcon shitbox died on the way to Wakie a while ago so we had to buy something else and this time it had to be a Nissan,,,hence...

Matt,,,I'm having a ball running the hillclimb champs,,,we've done 5 rounds (including heaps of practice) and she's still running great. Sell all that V8 rubbish and come back from the dark side.

Cheers

just wanted to say that what Neil has done with this car is really impressive.

It is neither big $$$ nor big HP, but it has been doing a heap of racing and has been super reliable.

There may not be 10x posts a day about it, but you can be sure cherryl is out there and being thrashed regularly which is a great thing.

 to you, and to Evil Chris for that matter as well....you guys are doing 1% of the talking but 90% of the racing around here. Hope to join you one day!

Cheryl's all good Chris,,,I've taken her turbo off and am sending it away for checking,,,other than that I have to weld up a spare diff,,,pass targeted scrutineering and have another year of fun.

I'll be doing another year of hillclimbing mate. Enjoy MRA

Cheers

Neil.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
