I was looking at this

But I bought this

I got tired of the Volvo's finicky AC and tractor like qualities (and 230000KM). From a Swedish tractor to an Italian sewing machine. Cheap, should be OK to run once I do the timing belt so the engine doesn't explode.

Pretty great experience with the dealer I ended up going with, they are going to respray the bonnet as they weren't happy with how a couple of stone chips turned out after touch-ups but wanted me to take the car for a couple of weeks to make sure if there are any issues they can fix them all at once while a have a loan car. Used car salesman wanting to actually fix things, mind blown.

Dang, dealer of the year maybe? My BMW came with overspray and a badly refitted front bar but the dealer knew nothing about that. :D

Looks great! I love Alfa's and I love Mitos. Are you enjoying it?

Picked it up today, pretty happy with it. A very different place to be to the Volvo. Now to try and resist driving everywhere in Dynamic mode.

Stage 3 upgrades completed.

Made a smidge off 257kW at wheels (was 210kW at wheels when stage 2+)  and a genuine 550Nm. The DSG TCU was already tuned but had to be custom tuned to cope with the torque increase (100Nm) over stage 2+.  Feels like 11 second 1/4 potential, although traction is a challenge.

So much for leaving my wife's car stock,  also threw the new car warranty out the window too lol.

Turbo muffler delete, bigger turbo inlet and APR reflash (yes the tuner went to get an off the shelf remap, turns out Kess by Alienware is nearly $6k, not buying a tuning suite for 1x tune).

I'll go strap it up to the dyno next time I'm using it and see what it pumps out

Hey Guys.

After years of driving Imports (as daily drivers) we were looking to upgrade from our V36 sedan. Something with switchable driving modes, as Miso (main driver) wants best of both worlds, comfortable and still fun/capable in the twisties.

Picked this up, a 2013 328i msport. Its got a few mods, as life's too short to drive standard cars, haha.

Goes pretty well for a 2.0L!

First Euro car? why not make it a modified one for your first Euro experieince, lol.

Still holding my breath for something to happen, but so far so good. Previous owner looked after it well

Still can't believe it doesn't have a dipstick for the engine oil!

Dealer excellent, panelshop that does the repair work? Pretty shit really.

This is all communicating directly with the owner. They are a Porsche specialist. Impossible to organize a loan car as they couldn't tell me when one would be in as if they had no idea. My dad kindly dropped off and picked up the car for me as he works much closer to the city than I do.

Three things needed to be done: Respray bonnet, fix drivers footrest and passenger seat flip forward not releasing.

What was actually done:

Cables tightened up for the passenger seat, seems OK now.

Bonnet touch ups sanded down a bit and then the bonnet polished by whom I can only assume was the work experience kid because it is swirled up something horrid and the drivers guard somehow has swirl marks like the orbital was dropped on it. Polish was left on all the edges, window washers and even the windscreen wipers.

Footrest panel was sikaflexed in place and popped off under hard braking when I avoided hitting a wallaby. You can’t Sikaflex interior panels in when they have serviceable items under there – AC fan, condensation container and drain etc.

Funny thing is they asked about getting rid of bad google reviews from cars they never had at the shop. I know two are from friends of the panel shop down the road but I guess they'll never get that information now. ?

Not resisting, bugger all difference in economy but Dynamic is how the engine should behave all the time.

Plot twist, dealer cracked the shits with panel shop. An apologetic panel shop called me to organize to fix things properly including ordering a new interior panel to replace the footrest. Admitted they simply rushed the job.

I am happy with that outcome as long as it all comes through and I don't have to drop the car there myself however the dealer already offered to pick up the MiTo and leave a loan car to get it done.

So I think I can safely say that Ross at Auto Central Sales is a champion and I would definitely buy more cars from them.

Bought my first Euro, BMW F45 (2 series active tourer) 225i. 2L turbo goes hard, loads of room inside. Indicator is weird and on the wrong side but that's about it. I like it. Oh it has sport mode, which stiffens the suspension and steering wheel, should be fun to fix in 10 years time haha.

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
