Whats finance rates like on a new car anyway? I paid cash cos VWL 2k17 800k baller club obviously
The mrs is looking for a new car and considering financing majority of it. Makes sense if the rates are shit all, gets you in the car sooner.
After 1 month of having a tenant move into my unit the hot water system starts leaking and needs replacement, garage gutter leaking into garage needs replacing fml LOL Costing me more than it's worth.

Negative gearing. Claim it against your vwlbc income.

Great deals will see 2% on a factory deals. most will do 5.5ish if you haggle over the rate. So the ultimate cost vs pulling money out of mortgage is ~1-2%

I used to think many cars on the road were owned, but when you consider how many are company or fleet and then the privately owned cars of which a big deal would be financed, there's probably very little actual cash in them.

Just trips me out when I talk to people about expenses and they mention their car payments. I've never had one under finance, probably never will because I thought it was uncommon practice, even though it isn't lol

I've been looking at loan %'s and repayments etc because the Mrs needs $20k in dental done and doesn't have the cash. All in all, the lender doesn't make a huge amount of money out of it... Like if I was giving someone $20k I'd want more back than that lol.

Generally if a car company is offering finance that is extraordinary low (i.e.) RBA cash rate low then they are making up the margin via other areas. I.e. Less of a discount on the purchase price of the car.

Sometimes you gotta check the fine print... Like some dental is covered, some (and usually a lot) isn't.

She had a bridge done by someone and its lasted a bit over 2 years. New dentist/specialist saying to go back to the other guy and demand some of the money back... Does that actually work??

Now needs bridge redone plus more work, and basic extras health insurance doesn't cover major dental.

once you take away the gold false teeth the price drops to about $2k, but wheres the fun in that?

I asked if dentures were an option and they said that you need teeth to hold dentures in... no teeth = no dentures.

Man, crypto trading is to Jackass what the ASX is to Bob Ross. It really is a new gold rush.
The fact that Coinbase newcomers can jack up the price on Litecoin and Ethereum just because bitcoin is taking Coinbase too long to process... It's insane.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
