no they are not. just get oem ones.

Have you personally had experience with the S1 Yellow Jackets coils? Have you seen the price of OEM ones?

What facts are you basing your comment on???

Ive sold tens of thousands of these coils over the last 7 years and they are great coils for the price and I actually have proof to support my claim

There is also hundreds of SAU members running these coils and have done so for many years now with no problems at all.

Ive sold thousands of these coils and they are great and I can prove it.

http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/462048-just-had-my-r33-tunedbut-now-its-misfiring-quite-bad-yellow-jacket-coil-packs/page-5this is just one of many threads.

Genuine nissan coils are $600 http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/coil-pack-individual-nissan-skyline-gts25-gts25-p-1190.html

Splitfires are $500

Would buy genuine or splits.

We had issues with the S2 and NEO ones in the past and have since fixed these issues. Every time we have a problem with a product we test it and dissect it and try and improve on it to avoid this from happening again.

I am actually referring to the S1 coils which is what the OP is talking about. Any one had any actual experience with these? These have been great coils since the beginning.

Of course you are going to see the threads where people are complaining about a product they are having issues with as its the basis for their thread.
I also only see the same handful of people going from thread to thread commenting how they dont like YJs over and over and over again.

These same people seem to troll all the coilpack threads and say the same thing "chuck em in the bin"...."junkets"..."get splitfires or OEM".......etc.... etc.....etc. Its all the same people saying the same thing.. over and over and over again.

There's also an equal amount of people stating that they are good coils too. These people normally comment once and move on as they have better things to do with there lives.

They don't go from thread to thread saying the same dribble.....

These trolls NEVER reply to any of the positive comments that these people make. They just ignore them and continue with the bitching.

All products have issues. No product is perfect. Knowing from first hand that I have a less than 0.5% return rate for these coils in the 2 year warranty period I offer. I think that is pretty good figure, especially when I have sold around 10,000pcs worldwide over the last 7 years.

Obviously the problem still exists. It was only 2 weeks ago that the latest thread appeared about them. Your policy also is to only replace the one coil pack. Leaving the customer to waste their time and money to figure out which one. Some of the best tuners in australia will tell you how good your product is. They are sick and tired of not being able to finish tuning a customers car and having to tell them the coils are no good and they need to fork out for new ones and pay for more tuning time. Instead of disregarding what the experts are saying, maybe you should listen to them and develop a better product. Most people that are happy with yj's are running stock boost and even then they don't last. You say only 0.5% are returned. I wonder how many people dont bother trying to return them and just put them where they belong. There are so many threads on forums about these coils being bad, they can't all be liars or trolls as you say. These are the reasons sau guys steer newbies away from yj's. Sick of the inevitable thread "rb yj missfire"

The consensus on sau is OEM or splitfire. That ain't gonna change any time soon. Maybe you should start selling those and you won't have to defend an inferior product.

Facts, had Yellow Jacks, destroyed 2x coils in 6 months, Yellow Jackets misfired at 1.3bar, sold Yellow Jacks at a massive loss, bought Splitfire coilpacks and somehow has lasted over 2 years even with the dwell increased and runs 1.6bar all day without a single miss.

Ask any tuna, any real tuna.

OEM or Splitfire or LS

They're only great for people running stock boost and when compared to blown 20 year old OEM coil packs.

As soon as you up the boost they misfire, as soon as you try to increase the dwell a little to combat the misfire they die.

Funny enough well known tuners are even saying to stay away. I won't mention names, but a basic search will show.

So these handful of tuners (2 or 3 Ive read about so far) have dealt with over 1600 of my customers around the world? I dont think so.

Our manufacturing and QC has changed/improved dramatically over the last year or so. The coils are much better now than when we first started out in '09

The bloke you are referring to 2 weeks ago hasn't returned the coils. I'm still waiting for him to resolve the issue with me. I offered him a new replacement set under warranty and haven't heard back from him???

If I don't get the coils back I cant test them to see what went wrong can I? If I cant test them then I cant improve and evolve too.

I wont mention names but a basic search will show the same SAU members going from thread to thread dissing the YJs.

Ive only found a few threads on SAU about the YJs. (I searched "rb yj missfire" threads and couldn't find much at all. (Only this thread actually).

From the beginning I have been slammed by people saying things like "Probably just Chinese junk" or "you cant beet OEM or Splitfire" blah blah blah... I'm not giving up or going away in a hurry. Especially due to bigots.

I do my best to try and resolve issues with the coils and the customers. You cant please everyone though.

I don't go around publicly calling people jerks or low lifes or scum etc.....over this though.

As far as I'm concerned, 2-3 tuners and a handful of unhappy customers and some dedicated SAU trolls doesn't compare to over 1500 customers around the world who have purchased YJs and are not complaining.

There's no point going backwards and forwards over this any more. I wont reply to this or any other thread regarding this as it will be pointless as the same SAU trolls will just repeat themselves time and time again.....................

OP, intended use? If you're after 300kW then it's probably not the right part for the application.

Standard replacements? They work fine.

I have Yellow jackets, standard R32 GT-R (standard ECU, engine, turbos, boost) with 1.1mm gapped spark plugs. No spark issue.

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
