Absolute wrong place to drive like that with cars like that. Being filmed has a tendency to make people show off but those guys should have the brains to not push it too far on the roads. I feel sorry for any person who is turning right and potentially gets t-boned because they thought a car was a safe distance down the road and only doing 80kmh.

The SAU policy of not having any negative criticism towards workshops and only positive stuff does result in some very shoddy stuff happening at many workshops that are 'recommended' because of the confirmation bias.

This is a legitimate issue if you use this site for research about where to go.

Going to pay the legal bills when the site owner gets taken through the legal wringer because of it? There have been a number of issues over the year with legal action due to users thinking they can just spew whatever rubbish around they want.

So until someone wants to pay the bills - the rules will be followed - and that is zero tolerance to slander. You get a court ruling backing up your story (AKA, the Edward Lees stuff), go for your life as it's no longer someones mates, 3rd cousins story.

To be honest, the amount of recommendations for 'good' places here have cost me more than the legal fees would have, in my personal experience, which is going to legal action against some of these stellar, amazing places which have no reported flaws.

The amount of BS is nightmarish for some of these shops. I can understand in theory why they shouldn't be named but the community would be absolutely better off if the rule was actually do not recommend OR slander any workshop here, a strong focus as to Caveat Emptor as it is for private parts. Though oddly enough, there IS a bad traders list for forum users.

When you only allow positive feedback you end up with workshops that do 8 things wrong and 2 things good trending positively, and over time, this just results in pain especially if these recommendations are old.

It's pretty straightforward to deal with a bad workshop experience, post up what happened as fairly as you can but don't name the workshop in the post. People can ask you by PM if they want to.

BTW....there was nothing good for skyline enthusiasts in that video, I saw my grandmother with her walking frame trying to get across the road at 14:43, glad they missed her.

So, the video was entertaining and took me back to the good old days of races in industrial zones, which is where I presume they were having these races. Ah, to be back in those days when highway patrol vehicles weren't as plentiful. :P

The only thing I have a gripe with them was that they should've avoided roads in industrial zones which had side streets. Blocking them would be the total opposite of courteous to other road users but otherwise, they were definitely putting someone at risk.

Cruising around, it's one thing to have a little fun on an empty highway but it's another thing to have fun with cars that are so excessively high powered that they're too difficult to tame. That's when I get a little worried. It's one thing to do 250km/h on a freeway at 3am but it's something totally different to be tapping into all that horsepower on roads which just aren't made for holding such wild animals. They should definitely save those things for the track if they want to tap into all that horsepower. If it was 600hp or something similar, I personally wouldn't have a problem with it as they seemed to choose their time and place reasonably well, with a couple exceptions (such as the single-carriageway with an oncoming truck - that was stupid).

Meanwhile, speaking of bad workshops (without mentioning names), if you are thinking of getting your engine and/or vehicle done by a certain competition engines guy in Campsie (NSW), send me a private message and I'll tell you my horror story, which resulted in a successful tribunal hearing. ;)

    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together 
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it. 
    • It always seems the uglier an animal is the more is costs
    • It's all about the socialisation of the dogs. In that first 8 to 16 weeks of age they need to be taught to be nice and friendly with everything. That way they generalise it to everything. That said, some days you'll just never beat genetics, but 99% of the time dogs chasing cats is purely lack of socialisation, and then the chasing part can turn into prey drive.
    • I bench bled my HFM BM57 before installing, it leaked badly. Threw it in the bin, because I installed it 2 years after purchase.
