Clutch suggestions
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to sergi_dee's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Scott is good with pricing, I initially had a NPC clutch that I put in but whoever owned the car before me installed the wrong throw out bearing carrier when they installed some eBay special clutch and it kept riding the clutch - which prematurely destroyed it. So Scott re-used my NPC pressure plate and reduced the clamp load down to 1.7 tons and installed a xtreme disc with new bearings, new carrier, replaced my clutch fork (old one was fractured) even changed my rear main seal and if I remember was under $900 for all that work (including parts). That is service. -

Blades never spin backwards, if they did you motor would probably stall as there's no where for the exhaust gasses to go -
R33cutting out at 7psi
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to R33s2gtst's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
wouldn't surprise me if both sets are cooked... Borrow set of decent coils that aren't yellow or red in colour. If S1 check ignitor/swap it AND check the ignition harness (clean or replace or hit it with WD40) if S2 check the ignition harness (clean or replace or hit it with WD40) -

140A alternators kit for rbs
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to rat32r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I have a 90AMP circuit sports alternator, and at voltage drops a bit at mid RPM, falls to aboout 13.2V then makes it way up again to 13.8V. I do have 2x of the pumps setup on 2x SSRs and they're controlled by PWM based on manifold pressure (to keep both fuel cool, and voltage stable-ish). Looks like I might "want" to upgrade soon.. not need though -

If you're in the Sydney area (which I believe you are) go visit Scott at Western Clutch. He can mix and match new clutch parts to suit your requirements. He has all the clutch pressure plate load testing tools so he's able to modify your clamp depending on your requirements and future power goals. He's put together a circuit clutch for me in the past when the car was making 372kW and the same clutch is still in the car. I suspect it won't handle the new turbo setup though lol. -
Gay. What's the point when you don't have proximity remotes and you still need to use the key to unlock shit before hitting the button. If you want that start button, delete the ignition barrel and have your ACC triggered by your alarm's unlock command. Then run a rocker switch of some sort for ignition then have a start button. Or buy a Tiguan, chops stock GT-Rs ?

Idle hunting
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Harun aka harry's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Nothing wrong with 7 heat range and gapped at 0.8mm, even on a stock engine. Try disconnect the O2 sensor, when they're dead generally the stock ECU goes a bit hay wire and pulls out heaps of fuel from the trim tables. If your hunting goes away, time for a new stock o2 sensor OR a Haltech (or Nistune or Adaptronic or a Vipec, etc.) -
Why do people hate the R33?
Dose Pipe Sutututu replied to Laurence's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
LOL.. You haven't seen me sidestep 3rd at a skid pan to finish off a set of tyres. Let me recall how I did it, select 3rd gear, smash the limiter, drop clutch super violently then giggle. Some NSW members might remember a while back at the SAUNSW texi lol ? -

I use mine as storage shelfing, roof is all scratched up. Not long ago I reversed it into the house because I forgot the car has no proximity sensors lol. Maybe I too should take care of it ? -

Is the car running any form of aftermarket alarm or immobiliser? -
Speak to either James or Alanah (his wife) at GameOn Motorsports. They're good on price and support.

firmware, just bring the ECU back to haltech.. I believe they also delete a resistor on the ECU too, but when I got it done for a customer it was free
