Ah seeing those Manley H-beam con rods takes me back. . . way back to my small block Chev days.

The days of the 80's when a set ( or similar, Carillo ) for a small block came in at $2100 and that was a big hit to the wallet for what I was earning back then !

Ah good old dinosaur days . . . . .

Party essentials

Finished repinning/relocating my oil pressure, oil temp, fuel pressure, power steering input and freeing up AVI 2,3,4 & 5 for DBW.

Isn't it a pain how many inputs DBW takes up!

If we remove the safety/redundancy features of it then you would only need 2x inputs. However having the safety features are a must to avoid throttle control issues.

Would be nice if Haltech released a new firmware for the Elite to support canbus keypads though :)

when I bought my car, I was deciding between a 135i or the R34.... sometimes I wish I went the BMW...... However when I see the 135i I don't look at it and go, man I wish I got that. but if I got the BMW I know I would regret not having the Skyline!

Haltech spent all their time/efforts on the Nexus which has that and PDM out of the box. It is a tempting upgrade however the price point is not right for me and I have no need for the PDM - not to mention it can't support fuel pumps or fans on PWM (current demands are too high).

At some stage I still would need an I/O expander if I decide to go to DCT or ZF or sequential as I'm out of digital and analogue inputs for gear position, etc.

Yea but when you see M2s with just tyres only in stock form doing 1m5s around Wakefield you wonder what we are doing wrong LOL

meh, the gtr or an evo9 does 1.06 there with just tyres too, and they are 30 years old....

but they're AWD/4WD lol

I know, plenty of Euro haters here - but then again it is SAU :)

I'm just a closet Euro fan lol... still don't own one (not referring to daily) after all this talk.

im in the 1:13's
with more in the car, Im the handicap at this point haha

more seat time!

I started with 1m18s (1st time), then a few goes later into the 15s, then suspension changes into the 12s, then tyres into the 9s. This was over a few years too!

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
