  1. Thanks for mentioning that, i might buy a set come tax time. so i'll put up a review when i order them!
  2. haha, i dont think you're ever really going to lose money on a GTR these days, especially seeing as though you bought it a long time ago when they weren't drug money! yep every project car is always 99% finished, well thats what you've got to say to the missus anyway ?
  3. really enjoyed reading this over the weekend, a lot of hardwork has gone into this and its encouraging to see! really looking forward the seeing the finished product (which im sure you are aswell!)
  4. Current clearance is about 5mm from the face and about 20-25mm from the nuts in the back of lips
  5. I’m running 17x9 +35, however they are reverse mounted so that lowers the offset I believe. I’ll have to do a bit of googling to confirm. I’m sure the VAG boys will have a super detailed explanation as they all have them on their stanced golfs with crackle maps.
  6. thanks for the informative link, i've got 17" LM's though so i may be cutting it a bit fine! I'll keep an eye out for a set of callipers once ive got some coin, either way, if they dont fit i can always sell them on i suppose!
  7. before i do any trackdays i'd like to do a brake upgrade, still on 280mm rotors and unknown pads, im contemplating 350z brembos or 33 GTR brakes but unsure whether they will fit behind the LM's. Also need to look into all the adjustable suspension arms, im not a massive fan of all the rose joints! i've been looking at the driftworks adjustable arms that have polybushed ends. We'll see what the tax fairy brings me this year and set up a plan from there.
  8. Thanks @KyleArcher, cant take credit for most of the work though as that was the previous owner! I do have a lot more plans for it now as it wont be a daily driver anymore from next week (getting a work ute) Yep stock internals, just has ARP headstuds. 300kW on 98, and 365kW on E85
  9. welcome to the club mate, get a build thread started for this, will be keen to follow along! Very nice car!
  10. all good mate, just thought id chip in and show it can be done and nicely too! good luck with it all mate, put up a build thread to so we can follow progress!
  11. i need to alter the values in my haltech as it reads 80 when full and 35-40 when sort of empty - dont actually know how empty it is as the only dash i have is the IQ3. going to 3d print a nice cluster for it myself when i can be arsed to draw one up.
  12. My c spanner’s finally arrived on Friday which meant I could raise the car up 15mm all around, however more importantly my carbon jun style front splitter arrived! Again, I’ve only got garage pics for now but it makes the front look heaps better and gets rid of the paint damage on the oem splitter! ive also ordered some replacement ancillary belts as they are starting to squeak on startup, hopefully they arrive this week.
  13. nah hes from WA, that wasnt my point though. Im british and went to uni in the UK and couldnt afford a car at all. this lad does full builds whilst at uni here in Australia. Thats what baffles me...
  14. Back when i was at uni i could only dream of owning the cars this guy does. uni must be complety different to what it is in the UK!
  15. nice little project you've got going there mate, keen to see more updates!
  16. Also had a GTR seat laying around in the garage for a couple of years, thought I’d chuck it in to see how it feels (it’s not in the best condition though). Much happier with the driving position as I’m now sat a bit lower. Now I just need to hunt down a passenger seat and rear bench!
  17. Carbon dmax roof spoiler arrived on Tuesday, went straight to burnings and got some sikafkex 258 - the automotive windscreen stuff. Cleaned the window and the spoiler with isopropyl alcohol and applied a decent amount of sikafkex to the spoiler. then chucked a ratchet strap over it and placed a bit of weight on top for extra pressure... Left it to set for 12 hours overnight and it’s safe to say she’s on there for good now! I only have garage photos for now but I’m happy with the look
  18. haha England is definitely bigger than Tasmania mate. however my point still stands, your fuel is cheap! and so is rego (thats coming from someone in NSW too!!)
  19. coming from the UK it makes me laugh hearing all you lot complain about fuel prices. Count yourselves lucky that you get E85, also count yourselves lucky that your fuel is actually very cheap! it costs twice as much in the UK and you dont get the option for E85 at all!
  20. Haha really? I prefer it without regardless, water just runs off the window anyway!
  21. A quick photo of the side of the car to give an idea of current ride height
  22. Just a small update, did a little bit of tidying up to the car. First thing on the list was removing the rear wiper as it didnt work at all (there's still a few little wiring gremlins with the car) Before: After: (used a bung from the boot floor to fill the hole) Next up was installing some LED interior lights, found this pretty cool SMD PCB light which is actually super bright. makes the interior feel a bit more modern at night! Before:- After: Then installed a set of aero wipers on the front, got rid of the horrible metal ones:- Next mod on the list is installing this when it gets delivered on Tuesday/Wednesday :) I've also ordered some c-spanners from the UK, hopefully they will be here this week too. then i can raise the car a little bit, possibly get some wider rear tyres if they'll fit - on 235/45/17's at the moment, hoping a 245 may squeeze in once i raise the backend a bit. then i'll get a wheel alignment done.
