Car looks great! What will be the first event?

Cool, if I see you in the pits at WTAC I'll come and say hi then .. I'm planning to enter NSW Time Attack this year, might look at doing WTAC next year, only in clubsprint class though.

Yay! Nismo Wins Bathurst 12 Hours
timmy_89 replied to Duncan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I was up at 5:30 to watch the start and watching on and off all day, until the final hour where my eyes were glued to the TV. My first year not at the mountain for the 12hr, was a pity, but was also good to see every angle on TV. -

Duncan's Race Car - The Most Overdue Build Thread On Sau

Now that I've met you, more updates!!! -
Cool build thread so far, impressive cage! When do you plan to have it finished by? Will you do any other time attack events? How about hill climbs/supersprints?
-
Great build thread mate, love the simple DIY work, I can appreciate that more then someone spending tonnes of cash. I've seen the car in action a few times along the way, will have to say hi next time I see the car around
-
hahaha I just realised the photo I was looking at was with the skids wheels on, lol, yep now I see why you had to change the wheels
-
Lucky the cop incident didn't result in more problems!! I'm surprised the wheels were an issue, they don't really look like they poke? Looks like she does a good skid anyway Hope you get the understeer issue under control too

Timmy's R34 Gtt
timmy_89 replied to timmy_89's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Engine and gearbox mounts, as well as a low temp thermostat. I noticed after the Supersprints at Bathurst that I was getting a lot of movement coming through the gearstick with launches and under heavy braking even so I've decided to stiffen it all up a bit. I plan to change the gearbox mount this weekend unless I get lazy, but has anyone changed engine mounts with the engine still in the car? How difficult of a job have I given myself? Lol. Low temp thermostat will go in at a later date, just decided to get it with the other stuff. I plan on doing a 100k service and fitting a new radiator later in the year so will do it then. -

deeerivery! -
Looks like you've done everything that I would recommend. Jez will fit a new set of plugs before the tune. I think 260-280rwkw is easily achievable, try not to get hung up on a number though, is very easy to do so, just compare how the car feels/drives

Except for modified stock turbo and mushroom pod I'm running the same stop so I'm keen to see your results too

I completely understand the reasoning for the implementation of the gymhana style event, and completely agree with it. I think it's a great idea to try to even the playing field The RTDC guys ran the event extremely well and there are no complaints from me. As mentioned on the day, there were twice as many runs on the day compared to the Toyota Nationals motorkhana that is run locally. It's great that you are checking in to the timing, who knows, maybe Eric did have an appauling run which put me in front of him on the board , but in the event that there has been a mix up, would be great to see the SAU team in front of the Evo's hehe ^_^
-
As much as I'm happy that I beat Eric according to record, I'd be happier for SAU to be beating the Evo guys!
-
Eric you should contact Chris and send him the link to that video and see if a correction can be made. Your correction could potentially put us in front of EvoOz and make us 4th not 5th overall.
-
I wonder if your time was meant to be a 57.9 not 75.9 :S I find it hard to believe I beat you overall lol. I mean... yea I beat you overall! Suck it

I'm sure we could all tell you what not to do at the very least ;P -
I now have for sale a stock R34 GTT airbox with snorkel, stock rubber intake, AFM and panel filter. $250, or make an offer, posted anywhere in NSW/QLD/VIC. Door trims are still available due to silly courier pricing. Would prefer pickup or can deliver arrange delivery in Sydney if no urgency. Everything else, make an offer.
