my magnificent wife complains about the minispool skip.....the fact i always seem to wear out the back tyres...on the good side...she bought me a T04e for valentines day...and entered in a competition which eventually won me a $5000 performance upgrade to my 31......thanks to triple m radio adelaide and D&T performance.....xmas just gone she bought me 4 litres of primer, 4 litres of clear and 4 litres of gunmetal grey metalflake with blue, green and copper pearl in it

nice work on the competition!! that's awesome!!

My missus rekons my car just looks like an old car and is ugly

:(

Mine hates the noise and the ride above all. Though I reckon if someone asked her when I wasn't around she's say everything between the front and back bumpers :(

My ex hated the R33 GTR I used to have and would have hated the R34 too. Every time I drove anywhere I'd have to drive like my mother so she wouldnt get motion sick.

Just my luck to have car that can pull over a G while cornering, but should i drive that way the carpet would need steaming.

pffft it's all about driving smoothly if you get car sickness, doesn't matter how fast it is! :P

my missus loves the 32. she reckons its the hottest car ever. down side is she drives it a fair bit, and she is quite small, and im quite big, so after every time she drives it i spend 20 mins re-adjusting the seat and rear view mirror. another down side is that every time i mention im thinking about selling it and upgrading to a 34, she cracks the shits cos she likes the 32 better.

my gf asks me week by week if my r34 project is finished...and when it will be done, my response is...."its never done and there is always more"

she also whines about how my last 3 birthdays n 1 yr anniversarys i have asked for something for my car everytime...as well as my next dyno tune for $800. score!

otherwise...luv's boost, drifting, banging (on the bonnet of the 34), but says...when ur driving alone just dont kill ur self.

oh and i told her if we ever get married n do the whole kids thing...im moving my running gear to a 4door version....she giggles.

ex hated bumpy suspension when it was stock with just lowered springs so i said guess what im buuying next coilovers made her hate it even more and prety much complained about every other thing everyones said spend to much money etc, ahahahha going back to single was the best choice i ever made with adding plenty of mods now if u drive a import tuner you gotta go out with your car cause it never stops ahahah buying shit

My old lady pretends to hate my car but she's the first one to offer advice on any new mod.

Being a woman its all about the vis. If it doesnt meet with her approval I get threatened with. "I'm not driving around with that on the car"

Wish I could find more "that" :(

mine STILL keeps whinging about the TE37's, so I told her to STFU, after patiently explaining why they are superior to $1000 bob jane specials. At least my mates GF's listen to them about cars lol. Still trying to drum into her head that Japanese cars are NOT meant to look like Fast and the Furious lol.

    • Lets say I wanted to buy this, specifically for this purpose. How do I actually perform the function. Can I still buy a Consult-1? Am I about to be burned by the fact my car is a 2000 model Series 2 R34 and thus will be some stupid other system? Do I just need this -> https://obd2australia.com.au/product/nissan-consult-14-pin-to-usb-ddl-diagnostic-interface-with-ftdi-ft232r-chip/ And with what software?
    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
